Messi retires from international football. I gotta think that's an emotional, heat of the moment type thing and he'll play again, right?

Del Bosque refused to change up tactics against an Italian 3-5-2. Spain could have easily played a 4-5-1/3-5-2 to counter. Bravo to Italy.

I've never seen Pique have so many unmarked chances at goal.

Italy have their payback and Congrats to them!

So happy England are out, and my English friends can shut up.

But...England need to rebuild. That Nat'l Team is garbage.

It's been garbage for a while. This tournament was no different than any other in the last 8-10 years for them. They go in with high expectations and fall flat on their face, although this time was especially bad, losing to a minnow like Iceland.

Maybe Rooney will pull a Messi and retire from international football, concentrate on club football.

England is one of my favorite teams, but they haven't been good since 2006.

But it's not like Italy deserved to win, they didn't really earn their goal, and they took just many as horrendous kicks as Germany did. They still haven't allowed a goal that wasn't penalty, neither had Italy - all the talk was about their defense, and Germany did score from open play on them. I don't have any problem with them advancing. Muller has to be better for them to beat France, no doubt.

I don't think Wales is an easy out for Portugal. They aren't Iceland, they are a solid team. Ramsey out on yellows is a major blow. But absolutely nothing I've seen from Portugal has me automatically saying I hope they win in the final. They haven't won in regulation yet, only really winning on a last minute goal in extra time of a match that was worse than your average English Championship match. They scraped to draw Hungary and Iceland, they were shut out by Austria, and beat Poland on kicks.

4-0 in the quarters, I'll take Wales v. Germany in the final.

Klinsmann to England rumors won't stop circulating

I think you all know my thoughts on him at this point and I'd love for them to take him off our hands. I'll just sit back and watch how long that dumpster fire of a marriage will last.

Booked my fall UK trip. Going for the match weekend of October 15, Arsenal hosting Swansea. We'll have to see when the actual schedule gets set what else I can go to over that weekend. A little bummed that the London schedule that weekend has the same home teams as last year's trip: Chelsea v Leicester, Palace v West Ham. Was hoping to see the new stadium or White Hart Lane before they demolish it. But seeing Leicester at Stamford Bridge would be cool. Also might take the train out of the city and see one outside of London on non-Arsenal day.

Very nice, I need to get back there soon. That Chelsea v LC game looks like it could be pretty solid. I'm really interested to see if LC can replicate their form from last season. Maybe not win the title, but at least stay extremely competitive and stay in the top four.
