You're missing out on some great sets.

I think 2008 is the last truly great Summer tour in terms of consistently great sets.

Consistently? Yeah for sure. It's the only tour since 2004 with consistently great sets. Although 2013's setlists are pretty good across the board, but the performances sometimes aren't.

after 2000 it is much less impressive to me at this point. sure there are some good shows but they don't automatically get me excited like 2000 and prior |

I’d probably make my cut 2004. Basically anything pre-SU and pre-Ross. There are good shows and sets after that I’m sure, but for me it is mostly individual performances rather than whole shows.

2010, 2011 and 2013 are all really good and have really nice sets. Especially 2010. I think 2010 is a litt underrated around hefe

2012 is kinda awful for setlist. SPAC n1 and the two alpine shows really stick out as great sets though. When I listen to those SPAC/Alpine tapes from 2012 they sounded really good. Dave’s guitar is loud in the mix, and they are playing tight, but not too jumbled if that makes sense? More air to breath in the music. They hadn’t hit the 3.0. wall yet. I was at 5/19/12 and listen to that tape quite a bit because they sound so good. Not sure if it sound checks out for the rest of the tour, as I haven’t really dove into much more than that because of these terrible sets.
The next year 2013 was way more interesting. I do think this is the point where they started hitting that 3.0. wall. They got a little louder and faster that year. The first 2013 live trax (6/1/13) is a really good listen. The second one (6/29/13) is not as good performance wise. Maybe it’s the mix, but they were playing a bit rushed too. I would rather attend a 2013 show easy. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch a show during the actual tour. I caught Southaven on 4/27/13. It was essentially a practice show. It started out Eh Hee, Seven, If Only. That’s all you need to know. Terrible show. |

2013 was a great tour with great sets. The last great tour, I'd say. After '04 I feel like '08, '13, and the acoustic sets were the only things I have much use for.

What these fine gentlemen said.
2004 was a remarkable year in my mind, between the new tunes and the song placement for both the openers and the encore/closers were really varied and fresh.

Couldn’t possibly just make the Dave and Carter video available, eh?

Agree with all this. I love that 2010 Scranton Live Trax.

How many 2019 shows have not been done yet? You know they gotta push that new sound!
