Live Trax 48 - August 25, 1994 | The Birchmere, Alexandria, VA

This intimate acoustic performance from The Birchmere, in Alexandria, VA shows us a very young Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds showcasing what are relatively new tunes for 1994. As the two settle in, Dave begins to share more info about the songs and this show becomes that much more intimate. Fans will know every song in this set, but we think it’ll all sound fresh!

This item is available for pre-order and will ship on or around September 10. All digital downloads will be received via email on September 13.

I’m not a huge fan of the pre-96 D&T shows, but I’ll definitely buy this just to support a release from this era. And I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.

8/25/94 is a great choice. Love that Rhyme & Reason and it’s kinda timely now that DMB are doing Stairway in Watchtower as Tim and Dave do a small tease of it on this one.

Also, this will likely be at least a slight upgrade from the version we already have.

I hope this sounds amazing and is truly deserving of ‘live trax,’ and not dmblive. If not, this is the surest sign yet they’ve killed dmblive off fully.

One of the first things I thought when I saw this LT announcement.

I don't know, I enjoy the full band sound. To me, these two D&T releases are complete wastes.

Not every show that gets released has to be a great epic show, I agree that releasing 2 D+T shows is kind of bizarre, one should have been the band, but would I have cared to listen to a 2018 or 2019 DMB release? Not really. (Unless it was MSG Ď18).

I don't need epic, I'm just not interested in D&T shows.

Give me any of the following as 'standard' LT releases:

[Only registered users can see links.] (Even as a 'Bonus Disc' with pre-ordering a current year's release, this would be incredible.)

Damn a '94 release, first time this year has gotten the LT treatment, right? I will probably download the existing tape and listen to the show before I purchase but I appreciate a deep, unique pull like this regardless.

For the most part I agree with you but the Prism Coffeehouse release is a favorite, mostly for how raw and intimate it feels, it's very different.

Hopefully the Live Trax doesn't have the lady sneezing during R&R.

Great pick. Exactly the type of show I'm looking to buy.
