Complete list of this year's nominees:
[Only registered users can see links.] Hugo leads the way with 11 nominations, followed closely by The Artist with 10 nominations. I'll get the pool set up again this year; hopefully we have a good turn out. Congrats to Indy for winning the 2nd Annual TDC Oscar Pool, predicting 20/24 categories correctly! My 198th film this year, Villa Rides w/ Charles Bronson, Robert Mitchum and Yul Brynner was entertaining. A good war film. Funny in parts as well. Bronson playing against type as a psycho was great. My favourite part(s) of the film were his.
I love films. I've seen over 2200 and own over 400 DVDs. I also can't wait for Public Enemies. Here's some others I'm looking forward to: A Perfect Getaway [Only registered users can see links.] Antichrist [Only registered users can see links.] Avatar [Only registered users can see links.] Everybody's Fine [Only registered users can see links.] Gallowwalker [Only registered users can see links.] Leaves of Grass [Only registered users can see links.] Love Ranch [Only registered users can see links.] Peacock [Only registered users can see links.] Shorts [Only registered users can see links.] Shrink [Only registered users can see links.] Shutter Island [Only registered users can see links.] The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus [Only registered users can see links.] The Lovely Bones [Only registered users can see links.] |

You bastard, I was seriously just about to come in here and make a general movie thread. Anyway, just watched Bedazzled again for the first time in a while and forgot that Elizabeth Hurley is so smoking hot it's not even funny.

That's the most interesting thing that I've learned in the last 8 months, and that's sad, because I'm being serious.

Top 5 - taking into account not only the craft of film but also my personal enjoyment (bad boys II):
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (will always be #1) The Fugitive Seven Bad Boys 2 The Abyss actually looking at that list, besides the abyss and maybe T2 those are all just based on personal enjoyment. the directors cut of the abyss is criminally underrated though. |
