Yeah, they’re fantastic. There’s a documentary that followed them on their final tour that’s pretty good. It’s called A Good Band is Easy to Kill. Miles Kurosky the lead singer and songwriter also put out a solo album that you’ll likely enjoy.

This record is awesome. Best thing from The Hold Steady since Stay Positive. I really enjoyed Thrashing Thru the Passion but this is a much more coherent full album and finds them experimenting a bit while still staying mostly within the confines of their classic sound.

I put on Separation Sunday last week for the first time in a long time. Holy hell that album is fantastic.

The fact that they released Almost Killed Me, Separation Sunday, Boys & Girls in America, and Stay Positive in a span of 4 years is just absurd. What a run.

They’ve had a great little resurgence the last 4-5 years too since Franz returned. I didn’t think Heaven is Whenever or Teeth Dreams were bad albums but they were definitely not up to par with the standard that they had set. I love seeing them back on track, and their currently lineup with Franz and the 2 guitarists is just dynamite live. Some of my favorite shows I’ve seen the last few years
