Well Mersh, that is good that you can not merge, because if you could I probably would not have read this rumor, and been pleased.

On July 22, 1997, Phish performed the second show of their U.S. summer tour at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, NC through a torrent of rain, thunder and lightning. Rather than cancel the gig, the band played on with the music mirroring the peaks of the storm's intensity. Highlights include "Down With Disease" that slowly segues into "Mike's Song" - the first and only time these two classic tunes were ever paired together in such a way - as well as "Taste," complete with near Biblical thunder and lightning display.
Overall the show is remembered as a significant example of Phish's hallmark approach to group improvisation with the performances here characterized by an exceptionally democratic and refined balance of four musical voices. This 2-DVD set features more than 2 1/2 hours of 5-camera footage with 5.1 Dolby Surround or optional stereo sound. Anyone who pre-orders the DVD from Dry Goods will receive Phish: Left Nuts, a bonus CD featuring more than 75 minutes of previously unreleased music from Phish's past performances at Walnut Creek, produced specifically for this release. In addition, you can pre-order (available for download on August 5th) MP3 and Flac versions of Walnut Creek's audio at LivePhish.com and get an exclusive bonus track of You Enjoy Myself with special guest Boyd Tinsley from 6/16/95 Walnut Creek Amphitheatre, Raleigh, NC. I can't even count how many times I've listened to that Disease -> Mike's and the Taste. Watching it is going to be phenomenal.
I'm gonna have to pre-order too, that Jim from 95 is quite awesome. |

Wow that's really weird I JUST downloaded the AUD of this show earlier this week and was going to listen to it tomorrow. I've heard this was a good show, Shapiro said in an interview it was one of his faves.
Nice a Boyd guest appearance as a bonus ![]() ![]() Last edited by batleon; 06-19-2008 at 11:16 PM. |

DMB needs to take a lesson from Phish on how to release older shows on DVD (not sure if Phish has done this a lot though in the past).

so i'm not a phish fan, but i respect them and it's really only because i've never tried to get into them. but honestly i thought they were better than pulling this constant reunion crap, i don't care how good a lillywhite produced phish album can be.

There has never been a reunion. Do some research before you make broad statements.
Phish toured constantly from their inception in '83 until summer 2000. At that point they said they were going on HIATUS. It was not a breakup. It was understood they would get back together again in a few years. That happened on NYE '02. The band then toured again from that point until the official breakup in August 2004. Even if you counted them getting back together after the planned hiatus (and I concede that could be considered a reunion) this would only be the second reunion. That's hardly constant for a band that's been around for 25 years. |

first off i know all about their history, you can't board around here for 8 years and not know all about what phish is up to constantly. call it what you will they split for a few years, got back together, hyped that tour as their final run only to come back less than 5 years later. i just think it's stupid, i know the album will probably be great and the tour might be amazing but i still think it's cashing in a bit.
