The music is great. Those lyrics are soo bad. Anyone who had any liking for them in the early days and faded away will find those lyrics laughable.

I've met casual fans who LOVE IOY. So, yes, people in real life definitely enjoyed that one. The Fenway in store LT release was the key.

I still believe IOY would've made a great Summer single sometime.
Just listened to the debut again. Such exhilaration. Listening to the last version so far (7/26/19). Much slower than in previous years. Sounds almost tired at times. Still, it's a song that never fails to make me happy. The studio cut is mostly good. Shame about some of the oddities included in the mixing. Great to have it.

2006 and 2013 were my favorite years for IOY. Coincidentally, 5/28/13 is my favorite version. It's just perfect. That was the clip the cut for the intro of the studio track.

2013 performances were tight. Lyrics were fleshed out enough to pass for a radio single. I think it would’ve been just as successful as you & me. It’s laughable to think the lyrics were holding it back...do you guys listen to the lyrics on top 40 stations? It has a catchy chorus and that would have been good enough.

Right now on 8/6/06 Break Free, Graves , LS run and it awesome. Tapes really good too. Still on the opinion that 2006 gets a lot of unjustified hate.
