Here's a random request for everyone. The Almanac says that two of Danny Barnes's songs played by him and DMB at the Gorge in 2009 are available on a release called "Catterpult into Outerspace". Anyone have any idea where I could find that release, or the two tracks with DMB from it? I'm happy to pay for it, I just can't find it anywhere.

(I realize this is probably not a high-demand thing around here, but I'm a completist, what can I say.)

Looks like it’s an EP Barnes released in 2009. Aside from the Rateyourmusic entry for it I can’t find any other reference to it anywhere. He’s not even selling it on his bandcamp page.

In case you're curious.

Catterpult into Outerspace was a bonus disc that you could get if you pre-ordered Danny Barne's album Pizza Box. Dave Matthews did the cover art for both the album and bonus disc. I have physical copies of them both. Looks like you may be set but let me know if not.

The vibe wasn’t there,” Beauford told Rolling Stone in 2001. “It was lacking everything the Dave Matthews Band was about.”
And so from then on, they tried to be anyone other than themselves

Who the fuck is this guy?

Kid sounds like a huge douche. Like the worst guy at the party. Half the shit he says about the band is wrong.

So nobody’s talking about the free beach DMB show in Miami December 28?
Sounds like it could be chaos and a festival set, but I’ll be there!

I wonder how much they’re getting paid to get out of their chairs smack dab between Christmas and new years

Yeah, they're playing a show on the beach in South Florida, I can't imagine the probability of rain being less than 70%, so we've got a 30% chance of JTR. Otherwise? Standard.

How’s the mix on those Barnes EP tracks? I nevee knew they existed. Dave was all about him. Surprised he hasn’t been around in the last decade.

Just listened again to the tracks. I think that's my first time listening since 2009. The mix isn't bad at all. Obviously Danny is front and center in the mix.

It's really not bad. And I really enjoyed his 'Pizza Box' album.

And his guest spot on Bartender at the end of the '07 tour is one of my favorites as far as guests with DMB goes, surprisingly.
