Only reason Dave agreed to do Gravedigger electric was if he could also have it acoustic

Or just find a spot on the album for Cig Lit. Which I agree is a great song for the record.

The weather was perfect this weekend to listen to this album. I have to say, I've always like the song Some Devil. It's so peacefully haunting. I would have liked to have seen something like this from Dave as the 'solo' spot instead of Belly Full on the new album.

Well, I was glad he put it on there. From the first tape that was out with this new song, I loved the sound and the way it felt. I've never really come to like the band arrangement on the studio track. I don't mind listening to the song, I just like the acoustic version better. Something more desperate and hollow to it.

While I'll agree with the sentiments of Some Devil... I don't know that something like that would have fit well within the theme of the album. Yes, Belly Full lacks on many fronts, but something like Some Devil would've derailed the flow of the album more IMO.

That's a crazy thought. I remember the morning I drove out to WalMart to get it, popping it into my discman in the car, and being so happy that it was good.

Such an amazing release. 2003 was my first year seein D&T in March and the band in September. Saw Tim solo the night his mom passed away right when this album came out too. Great times. The D&F tour was a great way to end off one hell of a year.

That's cool shit. I saw TR3 in '08 or '09 and had a table reserved. Ended up being 5-6 ft in front of Tim. Sorta mindblowing. Dude is a virtuoso.

dodo. what a beautiful opener. will never understand why, of all the songs from SD to get full band treatment, this was NOT one of them.
Too High is under-rated as well. Cool song. Will definitely bust this out one of these days.

This album is amazing, but I get pissed off knowing that Cigarette Lit exists and got the boot.

Likewise. Especially when shit like Baby is on there. I guess we should have seen the pussification of the Matthews Band when Dave put out this record. Between Baby and Oh, Sweet and Belly Full (and to a lesser extent, Mercy) make sense.
