Yea, the only poster I purchased was the LT 40 MSG poster because I attended that show. I don't get buying a poster for a show that you didn't attend.

I feel like they are dragging the release date out because the US tour begins in May as well. Just my guess though.

That makes sense. Makes for a long wait, though.

May's gonna be a good month for releases: the big Dead May '77 Box on 5/5 (and Felt Forum 12/71 a few days before), and then this on the 12th

For novelty reasons. Just because you weren't there doesn't mean you can't enjoy the artwork of the poster. Kind of like buying a vinyl or an action figure and not opening it I guess.

For instance I'd buy a Red Rocks 95, LT7, 8/27/00 or 12/7/98 poster if I thought it looked cool and I didn't attend any of those.

Yea, I mean, I wouldn't personally do it, but this show happened 18 years ago and is LEGENDARY. I mean, I had dead posters in college from shows I didn't go to because they happened before I was born (mitch was there). I had (still have somewhere) the phish pollock poster from 10/31/95 because it was an iconic image. I wouldn't do that now. And, oddly, I would feel even more weird about it as that is a tour I did go to shows on. But, there are kids who are in college who were born after that show took place. So, somehow I don't think it is all that weird for then to put that poster on their dorm room wall if that show / dave & tim mean thst much to them

But seriously, why does this need to be released? Doesn't every half-interested fan already have this somewhere in super high quality?
In 2001 maybe. But 18 years after the show, which is buried in Dreamingtree.org, definitely not. How would any new fan as of the past 10 years know about it.

It's a great show.

Live Trax should be a series of great shows.

Yeah, I can't quite understand why this isn't the default take on this. Yes, most of us around here are familiar with this show. But, not to belabor the point, we are a tiny, tiny fraction of the people that pay attention to this band. The more classic shows that they put out as a part of their flagship live release series, the better. Even if we have a good AUD of it, there's little chance that this won't sound even better, and it's putting a truly great show out there for people who don't listen to AUDs to hear. There's no downside here.

I mean, as I mentioned above, the Dead are releasing a box set of 4 shows that I've been listening to in fantastic SBD quality for around 30 years, and I'm still very excited that they're getting the official release treatment!

I stopped listening to the band for a while but this has caught my eye. Might be the thing to pull me back in

I completely agree. It is better for the fanbase as a whole to experience top notch DMB & D&T shows, so that they can learn and understand how they performed at their best. It's a win-win for everyone.

Pretty sure the only video of this concert that exists is Ethan Sinclair's.

The deepest darkest dmb corner of my brain tells Jessie Quallick (sp) was the one who taped this and 3/14.

There are actually two versions of 3/14 I believe but I'm almost 100% sure Sinclair didn't do either show.
The 3/13 show is so zoomed out that you can't even really see anything
