That's pretty funny in the context of the show. My wife and I have been enjoying it quite a bit. I'll probably check out this episode tonight.

Today in "Uh, ok then," Steve Lillywhite is apparently the CEO of a company that sells CDs through KFC stores in Indonesia, where KFC is, according to this article, the only legal music outlet in the country. There is a lot of strange information in that sentence.

Didn't realize until I just looked at that link they take a three week break or so only after 4 shows in the summer tour. Wonder why that is.

Maybe it's a placeholder to add some Canadian dates?

On the Almanac's page for this show the notes now state "Most tapes of this show begin with Satellite; however, a new source emerged in 2017 confirming that three other songs were played before it."

Anyone know where that source is posted?

Wow. Roi is just lovely on this. It's so refreshing to hear Seek Up without all the extraneous horn honking.

Thanks to all who helped this finally see the light of day.

yes, i'm aware of that filter. but what if i'm just a half-jaded dmb fan who doesn't even know which tour is going on right now, and i just want to see what dave is up to now and again?

my issue i guess is that i usually just check out shows from the home page here: [Only registered users can see links.] and the Crystal Garden shows just clutter the space there.

i realize i can hover over and see whose show it is, but its just not a clean experience for 99.9999999999999% of the human population who go to dmbalmanac looking for shows that are relevant to their interests. (ie: not Crystal Garden)

ideally, i'm actually trying to save them time, since i don't think those Crystal Garden shows belong on dmbalmanac at all.

how many of you could even name a Crystal Garden song to save your life?

Nothing really big here, but the venue we played at got a great shot of my Carter kit this weekend.

Also for the Jazz festival, Carter was using the pedals I recommended to Henry this past summer. So cool to be a smidgen "part" of the kit!

OK this is starting to frustrate me. How was the band so much better in their 2nd year vs their 25th? They have been playing music together forever, why arent they better? Mind blowing.

In regards to Dave, the answer to your questions is basically "age". Voice deepened. Dexterity has probably gone down. Songwriting is from the perspective of a 50-year-old millionaire with a wife and kids.

The biggest other difference in this recording is entirely Roi. And he's dead.
