If you like his style, you'll love it. It's a great record and has tremendous flow to it, from song-to-song. I think Camp is SLIGHTLY better overall, but "Telegraph Ave" off this album is fucking brilliant.

I enjoyed Camp. I'll have to check this one out.

Upon listening again for the first time in years, this is probably one of his worst albums. It has 3 good songs: Cry to Heaven, Nikita and Shoot Down the Moon. The George Michael duets are hideous. The rest sounds like 80s disco sludge. Bernie's lyrics are awful for most of these songs. There's not much emotion in the album, which given the title, doesn't surprise me.

Now I'm listening to this one again. I've seen it get some middling reviews. I really like it. The addition of the strings really helps. The music is catchier than some of their last few albums.

Downie creates such lovely settings and moods with his lyrics.

This one is blowing me away lately. I think Thile is finally starting to catch up to where he was as a songwriter/composer when Nickel Creek went on hiatus 10 years ago.

Finally got some true morning alone time to listen to Jason Isbell's "Southeastern"...damn, this is a fine album. So beautiful and poignant...not sure I have a favorite tune cuz they're all amazing. If I had one minor gripe it's that "Super 8" despite being a great tune is a bit jarring juxtaposed against the other songs.
