Can someone please post this to Dreaming Tree? I have been looking for days.

This is one of my favorite AUDs, that was remastered, I just bought new studio monitors, I am dying here.

Spoiler:

Dave Matthews Band
April 7, 1995
Cameron Indoor Stadium
Duke University, Durham, NC

Taper: unknown
Source: SBD > Cass. (?) > WAV > SHN

Conversion: SHN > WAV > Cool Edit 2000 remaster (Precision 7, Smooth 2,
amplified 200%, 9db bass boost, treble boost, 9000Hz Low End
Filter) > WAV > SHN [Brian Emerick]

(REMASTER)

*****************************************
*********DO NOT CONVERT TO MP3***********
****I REPEAT, DO NOT CONVERT TO MP3!!****
*****************************************

Disc One:

01. Intro ! - 00:19
02. So Much To Say - 04:18
03. Say Goodbye - 07:46
04. Dancing Nancies -> - 09:00
05. Warehouse - 08:37
06. Jimi Thing - 13:04

Total: - 43:04

Disc Two:

01. Song That Jane Likes ! - 04:21
02. Two Step -> - 07:38
03. Satellite -> - 04:44
04. Ants Marching - 06:32
-Encore- %
05. Intro to... ! - 00:31
06. #40 (Always) $ - 04:19
07. #41 ^ - 08:53
08. All Along the Watchtower - 08:49

Total: - 45:46

<> played, but not taped
! abrupt with excess silence, so fade in added
$ full band
^ first time played

-------------------------
Notes:

% most records say that the encore was only Watchtower, but this source
clearly shows that Ants is cut on the end, and then #40 starts abruptly
after the crowd noise before the encore was cut out somewhere along the line

I was able to reduce much of the original buzz and hiss, and boost the volume
by 200% and bass by 9dB to fill out the sound, normalizing. I also cut off
the frequency @ 9000Hz, which took out a lot of hiss. There's still a little
warble in the background, and you can hear some hiss during the quiet parts, but if
you crank it while the music is playing, it sounds great. Much better than
the original, which was tedious to listen to at best. The place is echoey to
begin with, so that's not a problem in recording (most evident right before
#40). One of the rarest shows out there as of right now. This is the best
it gets. Next, 4.10.94 (the "Recently" show)

You can tell this source from the original by the very full clear sound -
on the original, the hiss is almost as heavy as the instruments.

Ratings (comparitively):

B = for a SBD
B+ = in General
A = for a Cass. (?) SBD

compiled 10.29.02 by Brian Emerick

p.s. Jimi is amazing - GO ROI!

I still can't find 10-29-98. Even though I hear it isn't the best of quality, I'm shocked I haven't tracked it down yet.

I posted in the original thread but forget the answer- my copy of 2-14-97, which I traded for old school style back in the day, does have I'll Back You Up... yet all the sources I've seen claims it is missing. Is this common for what is circulating? I HIGHLY doubt I have something uncirculated, but just in case the community doesn't have it I'd figure I'd check.

I love threads like these

I just read through all 65 pages of that thread and it truly was an amazing read. I seriously hope we get a quality style thread like this again soon.

A lot of DMB SBDs? Yup. Not to toot my own horn, but I can take a little bit of credit there.

Actually, I guess I should be thanking the Matthews Band for the part they played in fixing my ratio.

I don't understand how somebody can't enjoy AUDs, especially from the past couple of years. There are some phenomenal tapes out there that in some ways carry the feel of a show so much better some SBDs can.

It's a great thread, too many people here don't care about the past. This community has a rich history, too bad a lot of the old posters have moved on.

.
nah. volumes way too low, the bass is usually muddy and you can't pick out what stefan is doing and since the taper is usually on one side or the other of the venue tim/boyd are higher than jeff/rashawn or vice versa. it's really not important to me anymore to spend my time listening to inferior sounding stuff from the band when i can choose from over 40 professionally mixed shows. not to mention 99% of the bands catalog is available in a live mixed format. there's really no point. i'll DL an mp3 of something cool that happens in a tour, but delete it soon thereafter.

edit: i understand i'm significantly downplaying how good the tapes sound lately. compared to boots of other bands they are fantastic, but they will never compare to a pro-mixed show despite what some of you claim about it giving a better vibe of the audience and band.

I am assuming here, but I guess the saturation of officially released DMB shows in the past few years have attributed to this?

You'd rather listen to an official release over shows you attended? I mean, I understand why you'd pick official stuff over AUDs even though you are (admittedly) downplaying the quality of some AUDs, but I'd think you'd at least want tapes of shows you were at.

why? it was a great show that i saw (6-17-09), one of the best of the tour, but i know that once they release a couple 2009 shows and the majority of the tunes they played that night are available in mixed form that i would just rather listen to those. they sound better. i just don't get these attachments to things that others do.
