I remember the first time I heard Cornbread in 2007 at a show and my friends and I were all like “WTF was that POS?”

Also, let's make the next round public. I need to ridicule the person that voted for a few of these years.

The person who voted 2000 either made a mistake or is trolling.

Definitely a mistake. These threads confuse people every time because it's a poll for the BEST, asking you to choose the WORST.

I also was totally soured by SPAC N2 that year. I didnt go to the night prior, and i missed Mansfield N2 so i basically missed all the interesting songs like Halloween > Billes and Minarets. SPAC N2 was easily the most lackluster shows ive seen at that venue, not to mention the shows i saw at Mohegan and the TD Garden were boring as hell.
Yeah I try not to look at it so personally, but more overall and as objective as I can. Just because you saw good shows, doesn't mean it should be considered a great year. No way 2012 is bad enough to get eliminated this round, but It'll def be on my list next round I think. The AFTW songs were just such a bummer live for me, and they clogged sets and dragged energy down a lot.

Totally agreed on objectivity. I personally thought my shows in 2013 were way less remarkable than those i saw in 2012 but in no way would i have voted for that year here. Same goes with 2007, those Mansfield and Hartford sets were horrible but i think the Live Trax form WPB and the Hollywood Bowl show make 2007 actually an interesting year.

I also think most any year we could pull a gorge setlist and say "see this year isnt so bad" which is why i almost throw out the gorge entirely.

100% agreed. Although I'm easily voting for 2007 next, to me that was an atrocious year. The band nearly broke up in the spring which led to uninspired playing. The Summer had some cool bustouts (SUAD, Loving Wings, etc) but I really don't recall any standout performances that would make me put it above many other years. The new songs were hit and miss (hated Cornbread and 27, enjoyed ADSR (albeit being boring live) and Eh Hee.

The best shows in '07 were in November (Izod, West Point imo) but once again, that doesn't make the year.

The Alpine, WPB, and Hollywood Bowl runs in 2007 were all great, IMO. But yeah, still not a great year overall. Dreaming Tree really saved the year.

Some of my highlights from 2007, off the top of my head:
  • Setlists for the Australia run were really solid
  • Jackpot/Falling off the Roof
  • Debuts of Corn Bread, #27, Eh Hee and A Dream So Real (and that they weren't nearly as bad as the Stand Up material gave a glimmer of hope for the future.)
  • Eh Hee with the Roots
  • Sweet Up & Down's return
  • John Mayer guest spots
  • Piedmont Park
  • The Dreaming Tree
  • Grace is Gone > Black Water
  • If I Had It All (Holding Back the Years)
  • Typical Situation's "rework" (starting with the jam, it was unique, not necessarily better or worse)
  • The Hollywood Bowl run
  • The IZOD Center show (i.e. - Krasno, Grazing in the Grass interpolation in Warehouse, Round and Round, etc.)

What did I miss?

Full band Some Devil was pretty cool I thought.
Personally, I hated that Typical thing. Equivalent of Half-Stop to me.

Totally forgot about the full band Some Devil.....Rashawn was awesome on the muted trumpet.

In hindsight, I'm okay with it only happening during one month of the band's existence. If Last Stop comes back next time they tour, I might not hate 'Half Stop' as much as I do.

Its not really equivalent to Half-Stop to me, the only way it would be the same is if they only played the 2nd half of the Last Stop. Im fine with the Typical jams because i prefer the music over dave's singing. The high level of musicality is what makes them unique to other bands, not necessarily Dave's songs. (dont get me wrong i prefer both)

I'm probably going to wait for a later round to vote on this, it'd be unfair to chose since I've listened to very little DMB from 2015 onward.

To be honest though the 2019 show I saw was pretty shitty which was a huge disappointment since I hadn't seen them in 5 years at that point, and even moreso now knowing now that it might be several more years before I see them again. Makes me want to pick '19 as one of my choices.

I loved it. Absolutely not the same as Half-Stop. Come on now. I'm a music guy, give me jams over vocals (if we're forced to pick) any day.
