I also did the Target 'drive up pickup' for a few things that they allow pickup for (non-perishables.)

Anything else I needed I covered with my quick grocery run this morning. It's gonna be an interesting few months when this continues. I'd imagine Prime Pantry, once things settle down with the rush to buy canned goods, TP, Clorox Wipes, etc, will have better stock.
Gouldís in Conyngham has been pretty well stocked and itís not too insane.

Drove by there earlier on my way home from Maylath’s (stocked up on their frozen burgers, so good, highly recommended !) Stopped at the J Zapata truck for lunch for good measure.

Sams and Target weren’t bad at all. We’re gonna be good, just have to hold steady at home and try not to run out for this and that if it isn’t necessary.

And this morning Ohioís governor said that he thinks schools may have to be closed for the rest of the school year. So thatís officially out there now.

Glad Ohio is getting ahead of things. Wish PA would do the same.

There’s now a confirmed case in my county and the Facebook rumor mill says it’s actually in my town (an employee at a large industrial park.). Yay.

I passed out for almost three hours after that mid-afternoon, then slept 10 hours last night, so clearly my immune system is a wreck at the moment.

Today Iím very congested and dry coughing still but the throat pain has mostly cleared and my breathing isnít too bad. I also havenít hit a wall yet where I feel like I need a ton of sleep.

Thereís no way there arenít tens of millions of people infected as I write this. No way. I also teach yoga and a bunch of our teachers (we have hundreds in Denver) in town are sending emails out notifying everyone that theyíre self-quarantining for two weeks. A LOT of people are sick here.
Keep us up to date Josh, hope you feel better soon

368 people died of coronavirus in Italy.

Today.

All of this sucks, but at this point I’m all for taking whatever measures are necessary to limit the impact of this thing.

Of all Michael Crichton novels I wanted to be in, this was not the one.

The WHO's Situation Reports ( here's today's: [Only registered users can see links.] ) show a disease whose spread is accelerating - going from 4000 new cases reported daily at this time last week to over 9700 new cases reported yesterday. This needs to be taken seriously.

Yeah if I’ve learned anything, it’s not to fan the Facebook flames, haha.

Either way, travel-related and quarantined at home. Bullet dodged for the time being. Now, we wait.

The CDC is now recommending no gatherings of more than 50 people for the next 8 weeks.

Josh, I hope you feel better my friend. I’m so sorry to hear this news and I wish you a speedy recovery. Stay strong and we are here for you.

In addition, I don’t know if this is a hoax or not, but someone texted me a few minutes ago saying that a NJ state trooper told them that Trump may announce a complete government shutdown this Wednesday, for fourteen days. No stores, fas stations, etc.. Only hospitals and emergency services. I’m not sure if I believe this yet and I don’t want to spread any fear or misinformation. I hope this isn’t true, so please tell me if I heard wrong.

I’m not sure that something he has the power to do, but it looks like most places are voluntarily doing that anyway. And he said today that no matter what happens grocery stores and pharmacies are remaining open.

I don’t think that any country that has had a system-wide lockdown has shut down stores. That would basically be sentencing people to starvation. There are a lot of rumors flying around about this thing right now. I wouldn’t take anything seriously that doesn’t come directly from an official source.

If you want to know why the markets are tanking again today, this is why:

New economic data is coming out of China. In Jan and Feb, retail sales were down 20.5%. Manufacturing was down 13.5% and asset investment was down 24.5%.
