Well that certainly sucks, if that’s the case . One of the best #41s ever, imo.

I would totally be down for this idea.

Ugh, I didn't know that. Too bad. I guess I'll take it off my list then.

That'd be such a good release.

What's the big deal about the Cow Palace show? I haven't heard it before.

One of the most coveted 41, and overall amazing setlist. There’s an FM broadcast out there of it, so it’s one of the earlier circulated “SBDs” and it was heavily traded back then.

I’m personally not a fan of 96 at all, thought the band was kind of tired and flat that year, Dave sounded more nasally to than even previous years.

I want 08/07/98 released. Subpar aud and it has Bela on Crush, Stone, Say Goodbye (only time he Ever played on it), and LIOG.

This should hold you guys over. 5/6/96 Crashing The Quarter totally new VHS source—the entire show (except Jimi) plus the entire soundcheck in proshot and good sound. Copperpot is a god.

They play a super slow funky version of WWYS at the 2hr 22 min mark during Soundcheck. This is unbelievable, and I like it a lot.

Yeah this is so damn good it might need it’s own thread. They left all the band dialogue in too during soundcheck it’s totally unedited audio wise. It’s like having an IEM in video format, so cool.

That's awesome. Hope it stays up long enough to watch, I'd think band discussion/soundcheck might be frowned upon by management.

Spin-Off: What Releases Would You Pay For (aka Take My Money Coran)

Yeah that was a super fun watch, especially the soundcheck stuff: I love that shit a lot. The one from HORDE we got a few months back was also super cool. It’s the field I work in and also reminds me a lot of my time playing in bands in my 20’s. Good stuff

I tend to agree, 96 doesnt really do anything for me. It sounds too polished to me for some reason. Every show ive listened to sounds nearly identical to the others from that year. It just sounds to me like they are trying to play the album version. Perhaps thats the draw from the year, but i enjoy the looser sound they had in 95 and the more confident sound from 97 and beyond.

I agree for the most part. In their early years the band had a tendency to REALLY tighten up/polish their sound right after an album before they loosen back up again. Compare early '94 to Fall '94 after UTTAD came out. Fall '94 stuff just sounds flat to me whereas early '94 stuff is straight fire.

Perhaps why Fall 98 cooks so much.

One of the coolest DMB vids I've seen.

Edit: Is that Lilllywhite giving Dave and Carter advice during soundcheck at the 3:12:40 mark?? Long hair and sounds exactly like him.

Yeah hardly anybody talks about Spring '98 even though those setlists look fantastic on paper.
