So virtual teaching is like living in a stand up comics nightmare of bombing the hell out of a set of jokes, you know the audience is out there because you can see them, but there is no reaction or noise because the mics are all muted and only some have their cameras on. And if everyone leaves their mics all on it is just a cacophony of noise and Ďwhat, you goí Ďno you talk firstí

The worst was my ELL class because not only is there a distance learning barrier, they also donít understand what the hell I am saying most of the time anyway!! I asked them to turn on captions and translate google to Spanish but I have no idea if they are doing it!

One of my co-workers wife is a teacher. When he goes home for lunch he's says she's reprimanding the kids more than she is teaching. Not sure what grade she teaches.

Well we found on via a Facebook announcement from the School District that Kids are coming back to school for A/B days (so we would have about 330 kids on campus) on the 14th....
All of the teachers found this out on Facebook, not an internal email...
our county had some of the lowest in Florida but I still feel it is a catch 22.
The numbers are so low because we arent having super spreading events in school all day, so lets send the kids back to school. I have a bottle of 80% alcohol to spray on everyone when they walk in, and everyone has to wear a mask.
It is going to suck for my STEM class because that is all project based learning and right now we have been doing Tinkercad.com stuff (its pretty cool for 3D modeling)

This job is slowly making me lose my mind. Its gotten to the point where I can't seem to do anything right. I've received two complaints this past week and the manager is threatening to write me up if I receive more. He has to be stressed out to because I'm sure he's fielding more complaints overall about lack of products and store policies in place. I wish people would just take a deep breath and realize these are stressful times for everyone. Complaining isn't going to make things get better.

I really hate working in groups.

I know, that makes me a bad team player.

But I really hate working in groups. Once in a while, fine. Almost all day every day? Just tell me what I need to do, I’ll figure it out and then I’ll do it. Constant groups = overexposure to colleagues and too much pushing and shoving for recognition and power. I have no interest in battling for either, I just need to know what I need to do to be productive and I’ll blow by whatever expectations are set. I always feel so held back and frustrated by the tedious nature and internal politics that exist within work groups. I work 99% more efficiently and deliver far better results when I can cut out the bullshit.

Anyone else openly hate working in groups? I’m not talking like once in a while, but daily? It’s something you have to act like you like in an interview but the truth is many people are less productive because of work groups. The one downside of remote work is now there are a million group chats, a million group calls, and a million large email chains always going around. Can’t we just be efficient in our communication and then get to work?

I work in advertising on the creative side, and work with a partner on almost everything, every day, as part of various groups on various projects. Collaboration, egos, and politics are a core part of my job - for better or worse.
Now, when I was in college, I HATED working in groups because the vast majority of students were awful. Luckily, when you actually get a job it weeds out a lot of those people (but not all of them, of course).
