The Golf Discussion Thread

There must be some golfers on the board. I just recently started to get back at it after a couple years off it. Needless to say, I was a little rusty at the range today.

What clubs do you use? Favorite courses? Wanna talk about a tournament on TV?

Here's the place.

I don't play as much as I like, but I do enjoy it. Shot 90 the last time I went out. I played enough as a kid that I'm decent but just not consistent really because I don't practice at all

Yeah I have zero time to practice, so needless to say my short game kills me every time

That's the thing about golf. I haven't thrown a baseball in over a year and I guarantee I could still hit my target dead on. But damn it all, if you're not swinging a club every week you can lose it fast.

No, not at all. Literally just started hitting the range the last couple weeks as it cools down a bit. Hopefully I get a few rounds in before winter.

I'm heading down to Georgia for a bit in November, so I plan on playing a course or two while I'm there.

Funnily enough, I'm more confident in my short game. My drives are just so inconsistent... something I really need to work on. I get plenty of distance, but I'll slice the hell out of it from time to time - and then of course, I tend to over correct.

Takes me a few to find it, for sure.

I've never seen any casual golfer use a belly putter.

My Oddysey White Hot putter and titleist "tin can" wedges save my ass everytime I play.

I also use the King Cobra 3 and 4 hybrids and Cobra driver. Thinking of getting some cobra irons w/ stiff graphite shafts because the difference in swing timing going from driver/hybrids to irons is killing me.

I've definitely seen them on local courses. Granted, I don't know the guys using them, so who knows what level they are at or how seriously they play.

I've fooled around with them at Edwin Watts - the concept has always intrigued me.

Rory has been on fucking fire lately. Which sucks, because I am a Tiger/American golfer fan. Not sure why I don't like Rory...but I don't. Wish Rickie Fowler would step up his game some.

Played mini-golf with my Dad when I was a teenager. Got a hole in one. I didn't see it but my Dad did.

He's been crazy on point.

I'm generally more a fan of the American golfers as well, but Rory gets my respect. He's only going to get better, too.

He struggled there mid-season. Missing a few cuts in a row. Apparently partying quite a bit with his main squeeze.

Also, your Av looks like the Spartan has a giant penis about to penetrate his mouth.

Don't hate. That's Sparty pointing at whoever you like in college football and telling him he's coming for them.

Yeah, I'm not hating...it just looks like he's about to swallow one.

And I like the Hokies and anyone playing OSU.
