Still no optic nerve damage. But to hopefully prevent another attack of glaucoma, I've opted for cataract surgery. Now I don't need it in the traditional sense, but my eye's lens does need to be replaced because it is helping cause the rising pressure.

The scary part will be the pre-op stuff where, because I can only see out of one eye, I will be completely blind for a few hours. Apparently everything about the good eye will have to be frozen beforehand so the doctor can do the delicate work. Still, the operation will only take half an hour and I will be awake for it. Amazing.

Thanks. I'd love to be reassured that I just had a blip and got it dealt with, but if there's a chance it could happen again, and actually do damage, I'd much rather prevent it from reoccurring if I can.

Definitely. It’s always better to stay ahead of this kind of thing. Keep us posted!

Sounds like what I experienced following laser treatments and before my vitrectomy, left eye totally blurry and right eye was messed up for a while after the treatment. Hang in there, especially knowing this is the process and it'll provide relief!

Also, following the aforementioned vitrectomy, the surgeon told me I'd likely end up with a cataract in the left eye eventually, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

No, not as in, cursed. Too me it looks like it could've been a funeral home at one time.

Ah, that I'm not sure of. Moved here 4 years ago.

Anyway, they caught the guy. He pulled a fucking Boyd Crowder....lit a local greenhouse across town on fire to cause a distraction, then robbed the bank.

Jesus, following up on my banking issues.....my new account had $1200 randomly deducted by the bank yesterday. It didn't show up as an alert on my phone or email 'cause it was an internal transaction. I went right down to the bank today and asked what happened.....

When they closed my old account and transferred the money into my new one, they had the "hold" released for a few minutes. In that time, two more fraudulent charges hit it, causing it to be 'overdrawn' by 1200. So, of course, the bank, without telling me, just takes that money from my active account and that's that.

I took the rest of my money out and moved it to another bank and now I'm waiting on the results of a new 'dispute' for the outstanding 1200 before I close the account for good and never use that bank ever again.

Fuck PNC.

What a nightmare! It's stressful enough to have fraudulent charges, but when it happens again that soon I don't blame you for moving your money.

Thanks. I explained to the bank rep handling my case that I'd like all my available money withdrawn and I'll be closing my account once the latest two fraud cases are closed. She nodded and said "I don't blame you."

Woof.

Good lord she is tiny.

Mass shooting in downtown Dayton last night. 9 dead 26 injured. So far it doesn’t seem like I have any personal connection, but it happened right next to one of the local breweries where I know several people, so my fingers are crossed.

Stuff That Doesn't Need Its Own Thread

As a responsible gun-owner, I’m torn. I’m pretty sure they will be further and further restricted until they’re all but gone. And I’m almost coming around to that idea. What else can really be done about this? Honestly, I am open to suggestion but I really don’t see another way. “More mental health support” “more resources for depression!” “More oversight” “better background checks.” It’s really not working at all.

Today as I enjoy a taco from a local taco truck I realized quite possibly my biggest failure.

I spent 4 years living in a predominately Hispanic neighborhood. At least twice a weak someone would knock on my door asking me if I wanted to buy a tamale or some tacos. I would always refuse because I thought "EW I'm not buying a taco you made in the back of your truck"

If only I had invested what little money I had in food trucks back then
