There are a few, like 12.14.02, where Roiís solo is worth the wait, but otherwise it takes far too long to get going. Itís quiet and plods along, Daveís guitar riff isnít strong enough. I just feel like itís an underdeveloped idea. I compare it to snow outside because I view both as love songs to his wife with a big horn solo at the end. Snow outside I feel is a finished song with better lyrics and music.

Yeah, I feel like if youíre looking for tight from either of those songs, youíre kind of missing the point.

WTWE is the most underrated song in the catalogue.

#36 is the most overrated.

That Girl Is You is still good.

Not totally agreed, but I think I like it more than many do.

I think Shotgun holds that title, but I agree it's overrated.

Not bad live. Not good on CT.

WTWE isnít the MOST underrated tune, but it doesnít get the credit itís due.

Agree on #36

TGIY is just bad. Just not good. Itís a LITTLE better live than studio, but thatís like...I dunno, insert apt analogy here.

Unless they’re playing TGIY with a horn section like the preservation hall performance, it blows.

Shotgun blows. It’s held in such high regard people have lost track how jumbled it is. 2004 sugar will, crazy easy, hello again blow it out of the water.

Joyride is a caricature of a DMB song.

As soon as I heard it I thought about how it's a "poor man's" SUAD but in those days I used to do that all the time with dmb songs.

I fully agree. I just don't like her guest spots on the song.

Back in 2004, I used to compare "Joyride" to "Rapunzel". Maybe that's just me though. That's interesting though, as I never thought to compare it to "SUAD" as well.

Itís much more like Rapunzel. Some of the same chords and definitely similar movements. You can see similar gears turning there if that makes sense.

Both of those songs have always felt totally tossed-off to me. They just seem like songs that Dave wrote without putting any thought into them at all.

Thatís how I feel about his writing since LWS.

I don’t know that I would call it criminally underrated, but Mercy is definitely a good song, and I think if it hadn’t been a single people would be fine with it.
