My cousin fell asleep in the living room at our gathering this weekend and woke up with a cat sleeping on her ass and my two-year-old niece had covered her with fish crackers so adorable

I did early voting Friday. Only person at the station under 80.

Old guys having trouble with the computer touch screen get agitated very quickly. "God damn liberals don't want me to vote Patrick Quinn out of office!"

Yea, I didn't see anyone my age at the voting station today either. These will be the same assholes who will complain about "issues" via social media though...

Judging from how the results are coming in, a lot of younger voters, and other Democratic-leaning voters, stayed home today.

A federal appeals court just became the first of five appeals courts to rule against gay marriage, which means that the Supreme Court will probably have no choice but to take up the question in its next term. By the middle of 2016 gay marriages will either be nationwide or back to only states that have approved it legislatively or by plebiscite.

Just do it and get it done. If two people love each other enough to wanna get married, they should be able to.

I agree, but even more importantly for this issue, our constitution guarantees that everyone should be treated equally by the laws of this country unless there is some sort of very good reason for them not to, and that someone's rights can't be taken away from them arbitrarily. There hasn't been a single case that has shown any sensible reason that gay people shouldn't have the same right of marriage that straight people have. Even this court yesterday really didn't give a good reason. The only argument they could cite was that marriage should be limited to people who can have kids together because that's the government's business for some reason. It's a stupid argument that has been literally laughed out of court several times in the last few years. But I'm glad those jokers rejected gay marriage, because now the Supreme Court will have to deal with it to address the conflicting lower court decisions. I'm tired of living in a country where my friends are discriminated against by the law.

I'm of two minds on the issue...

While I absolutely fall on the side of marriage equality, I have to admit that the 6th Circuit's opinion was extremely well written. I completely understand a judge being uncomfortable with the idea of 2 federal appellate judges invalidating the will of millions and millions of people who voted to ban gay marriage within the last ~10 years in all of the states covered by that circuit (Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee).
