A little bit of discussion in another thread about this, but the show is being billed as Dave solo, which would mean that this setlist is probably incorrect.

Well this is really interesting. Sounds like this will be a physical release?

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but why does Sweet Briar College need benefiting?

Looks like they almost shut down last year over funding.

Sketchy funding/decisions by the president and board.

Basically, they had lower enrollments (not surprising), but the board and president decided to call it quits and board up the school while they were ahead (and still had plenty of money). Alumni and the public called them on it and I think most of the board and president were ousted and they are still open today. The sketchy was that the board and president claimed it was due to there not being enough money, but examination of their finances seemed to indicate there was plenty to keep the college going for a while. The announcement was also extremely abrupt when it was made, which pissed a lot of folks off because they would have helped if they had known.

I'm guessing it being a small women's college in VA and probably knowing a number of alums from there, it's an easy thing for the band to do to support them and try to help them out.

They are still open and I think the threat of closure put them in a much better state with governance and financial stability (for a while at least) because people started donating more heavily AND they got a new board and president to better manage the university.

This show's date seems to be right around when Crash was released. Wonder if this will be bundled with the Crash anniversary vinyl.

That'd be cool. Be even cooler if it was also on vinyl.

Haven't seen the discussion in the other thread, but this show is listed as D&T on the almanac but this PFWYG definitely only had Dave. Plus I saw a tweet from the DMB twitter feed saying it was a Dave solo show. Weird

Look at the notes on DMBalmanac. They admit that the setlist is likely incorrect since there is no tape.

Hmm release a new Dave solo show, sell it in stores and get people interested again and release a new Dave solo album in the fall/winter?

Pay For sounds amazing. Either Tim came out of nowhere and played Stream or the set is wrong.. Either way, a '96 Dave solo release would be outstanding. Didn't even know he did one to be honest.

imho, timing seems to coincide with vinyl Crash release.

I hope the setlist is correct. I was under the impression the question was whether or not this was Dave solo or D&T. Looks like the former....

This is amazing- i saw this show. It was just Dave, under a little pavillion in the middle of the afternoon. His girlfriend (now his wife i think) went to sweet briar, and a bunch of us lynchburg college stuygot in through a friend of a friend. Maybe 500 people there, and if i remember right, it was right before the Crash tour. It will be a great release.

Based on that, I think it's very likely this will be somehow associated with the Crash re-release. I can't imagine them just putting this in stores on its own.

is this really going to be in stores? No way I say.

Great chance it will be bundled with the Crash remaster.
