2017 & 2018 Warehouse Membership Package Discussion (wh10.6 & wh10.7 tracklistings announced)

Weird email. So, we’ll get the 2018 package before he 2017? Still, glad they’re fixing this issue.

Quote:
Dear Warehouse Member,

We are pleased to announce that beginning in 2018, the Warehouse member packages will ship monthly, as opposed to previous years method of a bulk shipment early in the following year.

When you renew your Warehouse membership, please confirm your MY INFO profile page ship address. Our system will pull the address listed on your MY INFO page to ship your Warehouse member package in the month following your renewal. For example, when you renew in January 2018, your Warehouse member package will ship February 2018. All members have until the last day of the month to update the address on the MY INFO page. Warehouse members will also be given the opportunity to opt out of receiving the package.

NOTE: The 2017 Warehouse member package will ship in bulk in the spring of 2018 to all members who joined/renewed in 2017.

The Warehouse was created in December 1998. In December of 1999, the band wanted to thank their members for being a part of their official fan association and developed the Warehouse Membership Package. We hope you enjoy it.

Please contact [Only registered users can see links.] with any questions.

Thank you and happy new year!

Warehouse Crew

It means December 98 members will get their 2018 package by the end of January and their 2017 package in June.

Also, it means the packages will suck even more. They're just going to mass produce them and ship throughout the year now.

Yeah, it’s not necessarily a negative change, but I guess we should wait to see how it’s executed before bitching and complaining, right?

Why would that make a difference in the quality? Donít they just mass produce them now but just ship them all at once?

For instance, if they even have music in them anymore, it will be out in January to December 98ers. If your renewal is in November, how special are those eight tracks going to be almost a year after they are released?

Are they going to roll out a big announcement in January telling people what's in the package they won't get for ten months? Seems unlikely to me.

Which all loops back to, why put effort into those tracks at all. By spreading this out, they've drummed down interest in the packages. So they'll go ahead and shit up the works now that there's no repercussions.

Because nothing beats the personal touch of a download code.

Why would they not have music in them any more? There's no hint of that.

At the very least, everyone that wants them could have them sooner than everyone waiting until June or July or whatever. and who cares when everyone else gets something, doesn't it only matter when you do? Specialness of the tracks? what does that matter. The first 2 days of conversation in a message board?

Bitching for bitching's sake. Seems a good change to me, but as said above, I'll see it in action before I judge it too much. Saw someone say elsewhere that there will a download code link? which we've all asked for and does remove the limit of how many tracks or length. I don't know if that was legit though as it's not in the e-mail.

They don't make change for change's sake. They already eliminated photos, right? That only leaves music and trinkets.

It is clearly still delivered by mail.

If there was no trinket, they'd wouldn't just be mailing a CD, they'd download it.

So if they eliminated something, it will be music.

--------

What's more special family time: gathering around a Christmas tree to open presents together, or periodically through the year gathering to watch one person open birthday gifts. That's the difference. this makes when packages less of an event to discuss.

Also the fact that they'll be sending out 2018 before they can get 2017 together suggests it will not have the same care and diligence.

Are they really working up TWENTY new warehouse tracks in the next four to six months? Possible, but I think it's a reasonable question.

One more thing: just remembered that back in the summer they held that poll to vote for 2017 package songs. It had like a dozen options and write ins.

However that impacts your opinions of getting 20 new tunes within the next six months....

the 2017 package is the one that had voting for specific performances, yeah?

so we'll get that sometime in the spring, but people will already have received whatever the 2018 package by then? okay

What exactly does this sentence mean?

"Warehouse members will also be given the opportunity to opt out of receiving the package."

Could be alluding to the availability of a download code. I can’t think of any other reason they’d make that an option, unless there are a bunch of Warehouse members who really don’t like getting the package and are only in it for tickets.
