Looks so weird to have D+T at a venue like this. Glad everyone had a good time, but all the videos I watched from the show sounds like the crowd was awful as can be. It totally loses the intimacy that makes the Dave and tim shows great in a place like this.

I know there was the bigger piano he played DOTHS on but not the keyboard he plays VITR on, which I was referring to. So he would've played it on the regular piano or maybe the guitar.

I just meant keyboard to piano isn't much of a stretch. I'd probably rather he had played VITR. It is not good, but not as bad as DOTHS.

It sounds really good, I really enjoy this song. I seem to like it more and more as the summer goes on, and it is really good D&T also.

This is a really nice show. I've been listening to it quite a bit at work. Dave sounds much better here than at most DMB shows lately. And his delivery on a few songs (Stay or Leave) is really passionate. I think D/T next year could be a real treat for everyone

It's refreshing to hear Tim on the acoustic without Boyd/Rashawn in the way.

Yeah really strange how Dave sounds so much better when he plays Dave and Tim verses DMB or even solo. It's like he has more confidence when it's just him and Tim or something. With DMB he's either too timid vocally, holding back or he's yelling to try and song over the loudness of Tim and Carter. That's my take at least. But yeah, his voice has been pretty phenomenal in recent years at D+T shows. Haven't listened to this one yet. How's the tape?

I bet Carter is holding him back vocally You can just tell by the way he looks at him.

Dude, its hard not to point the finger at him. I just can't see anyone else in the band having an effect on Dave like Carter does. Dave has always looked back to Carter for approval on how the songs are going, and hoping Carter smiles to signal its all good. I guarantee you Dave is subconsciously thinking about Carter judging his singing.

Holy shit

Seriously though, his voice was one of my big take aways from the show. Still sounds like himself here.

the main reason I said that, is because I sang in a band for years and my drummer always gave me crap about it, kind of telling me I'm not very good and need to get better (indirectly, hinting at at it and what not). And I knew he didn't like some of the stuff I did vocally and stuff I wrote. That shit stuck with me every time we played, and I never sang as good as I could have. So yeah, definitely imparting my personal experience into my opinion, but hey, it's worth slightly more than just guessing.

People can paint you as crazy greykitkat, the gang mentality on this website is funny -- just ignore it, but you're dead right. Dave absolutely, 100% looks to Carter for approval on his singing. There's TONS of IEM's where Dave says to Carter "am I in the pocket?" and Carter goes "oh you're money baby you're in the zone.."

Carter is the leader of this band, as percussion instruments normally are, and Dave still looks to Carter for approval.

Some people think the same thing it is the gang mentality because you disagree with it. People were its busting his balls because he spent several post psychoanalyzing Dave/the band.

Nah, there's several people who agree with everything and ballwash each other no matter what. Names don't have to be mentioned but it extends to mods as well. It's fine, it's the Internet. Just some friendly advice that he not take it to heart is all. Back in the day I used to let this website, or previous incarnations of it, work me up.. and theres a few posters who have sucked me in a few times since I've been back, but for the most part it's easy to recognize who to take serious and who not to.
