This was a tweet from a Philly reporter following the Phillies friday night game being the longest 9 inning game in their history:

Longest Grateful Dead concert ever: 4:41 [June 10, 1973, RFK Stadium]
Longest Phillies game ever: 4:30 [July 6, 2018, PNC Park]

What is this Complete Live Rarities and is it available somewhere? I’ve got my Mitch Pick’s in an itunes playlist, but now I’m missing 2 tracks from some release I’ve never even heard of.

Ha. That's a great question. Those are just the bonus tracks that were on the expanded versions of albums in the Beyond Description box set (and sold individually) many years ago. E.g., the live Foolish Heart was on the Built to Last CD and the Jack Straw was on the expanded Dead Set release. I didn't even think they were on Spotify until recently, b/c they don't have the expanded editions of the albums. But apparently, on iTunes and Spotify, they have all those bonus tracks lumped together as "Complete Live Rarities" (and "Complete Studio Rarities" for the bonus studio tracks).

For Half-Step on Spotify, you canít go wrong with the Without A Net version. Or Rochester 11/5/77 Dicks Picks is great too. (My faves are probably 5/7/77 and 5/17/77, both officially released now, but neither on Spotify)

Is Summer 89 highly regarded? Itís on fire. Best late GD Jerry playing Iíve ever heard. I think possibly even better than Spring 90 which is always talked about.

For sure. 87-90 is one of the peak periods of the band apart from 72-74, 77-78.

Yeah dude. Search back here maybe about a year or so ago. I think I was telling you specifically to check out summer 89 (Truckin Up to Buffalo in particular). The Giants Stadium shows I saw that July were amongst my favorites I saw.

I saw the next 2 shows after that, at Giants Stadium. They were cooking with fire at that point. Good times.

And of course, if you've never heard it yet, there's the Branford Marsalis guesting show at the Coliseum on 3/29/90 (Wake Up To Find Out). Must hear.
Hopefully they eventually give us a box set release of the full Alpine run. Summer Ď89 was great
