To the same point, forget about the LWS version of Captain....what about live D&T versions? And the same for Raven? How about the live 2000 versions? I just don't think the two songs stack up, especially lyrically, to the 'old versions.'

What they did to Captain is just terrible. To go from the LWS lyrics to "let's fuck all night" is such a post LWS DMB move.

Songs are a 9
Production sounds like it was recorded with a mop over the mic and mixed underwater.

7. WAYG is the only dog on the album, everything else is fantastic... its just better Live or LWS.

7. Album is bland but songs are stellar. Would have been a 10 if they properly finished LWS.

Okay, after a few listens I'll put Bartender from Bs into my 'Good' section. I can appreciate what they tried to accomplish outside my adoration for the Lws version.

Bef and Captain are still terrible, dumbed down takes on what could have been classic official studio cuts.

And I've always thought Wayg is a pretty studio song. Don''t care for it live though.

I actually prefer to outro to Bartender on BS.

BEF was the biggest travesty. Easily some of Roi's best work.

This was a tough one. I'm between 7 and 8, but couldn't make myself round up to 8. You Never Know is one of my favorite songs and I really dig Ditch (ha), Grace, KKJ, BEF, and Bartender.

Can only listen to GS and YNK - gave it a 4 because only two songs? That's not good.

I will listen to Bartender in 5.1 from that bonus DVD they included, but not the regular CD version. It's a decent 5.1 mix, shame they haven't considered doing an entire album in surround and as much as I'd probably give them one of my bollocks to ensure it, I doubt BTCS is gonna be the first for the reissue.

9/10 for songs, but just a really bland sounding album. Not quite "And Justice For All" bland, but very poor. Perhaps I'd have scored it much higher if tLWS didn't exist.

Listened to the CD recently, would likely have gone 7 if I hadn't as it had been a long time. One really cool thing I noticed for the first time is Carter's extra rolls right around the 4:30 mark of Grey St and also that he misses the middle cymbal hit the first time he does the "ting ting ting" in the chorus.

Aside from Roi's solo needing to be (much) longer, I think it's a great studio cut.

The vocals, the organ... I don't know. The live versions are just soo much better to me. And I'm someone who typically loves the studio stuff.

More about the vocals, it's specifically the harmonies during the "alllll falll dowwwn.... it won't be so long now..." part that really just sounds awful to me.

I know the production of YNK is slightly shoddy, but I still love it.

8 for me. WAYG being on it keeps it from 9.

I remember the first time I heard the studio cut of YNK and chills went down my back - in a good way, not a pile of dirty socks way.

That's how I felt about the 4.7.02 debut.

You Never Know is probably at Top 10 DMB song for me as well, so my distaste for the studio cut really bums me out.
