Absolutely gutted by the news of Neal Casal's death.

He became my favorite musician over the last few years. Ryan Adams and the Cardinals might very well be my favorite band of all time. I loved all of his other side projects especially Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Circles Around the Sun, Hard Working Americans, The skiffle players. I was at the record shop last week and picked this up without knowing what it was just cause he's on it [Only registered users can see links.]

Saw him with a few bands already this year and was planning on doing the NYE run in colorado with Circles.

Man what a blow.

Suicide. Just awful. You look at the videos of him playing and the pictures he posed for at Lockn' this weekend and you'd never think the guy was on the verge of that. Ugh.

Hadn't heard of the guy. Don't follow Jennings or Adams much. What a tragedy though. 50? Jesus.

I lost a good friend amount a month ago to suicide. I met her in Denver and the thing that brought us together was Ryan Adams and the Cardinals. She struggled with addiction and there were highs and lows with her. But we really bonded over the music.

That and this back to back is just... brutal.
