I love it cover-to-cover and Snow Outside is my favorite song in two decades.

Songs are on par with Big Whiskey, but to me, the production is at least a step up. Not great, but much better than BW.

I gave it a 7. There’s a lot on this one that I like, including a particularly strong start and a very solid closing. It sags terribly in the middle (there’s a middle-age analogy there) and the production is surprisingly weak, but it’s seriously the only post-LWS DMB album that I ever get the desire to listen to.

I listened to this all the way through the other day. It was a nice departure from the loudness of Big Whiskey. But I agree with Dave that something was lost during the post production. It’s a very “earthy” sounding album and could really have used some brighter guitar on some songs (Belly Nice for example) and something else going on the background in a lot of songs. There are some throwaway songs (Belly Full, Sweet). Overall a solid 7

I've always really enjoyed this album, and is the closest thing we may ever get to a return to form from their original 3 albums in songwriting, arrangement, and production. (I'm ignoring the LWS in that comment) I for one am very grateful that we have this album.

Great album, I give it an 8. I wish we had more of the behind the scenes footage from when they made the album, I know they shot a ton of it.

I would give it a 7. My biggest issues with the album is that often times the weight of the lyrics dont match the song, Gaucho and Drunken Soldier in particular. Also, some songs sounded like they needed to be jammed out more, and were cut off just before things got going.

This album also gave us Broken Things and Snow Outside, two of my favorite post-2000 DMB songs.

I enjoy pretty much every song in some fashion.

Completely agree with the bold. It's a shame too b/c both of those songs in particular are a really great showing from the band musically. With Gaucho I actually really enjoy the verses lyrically but the chorus is a big let down. Drunken Solider just feels like a song where the subject matter of the lyrics directly clashes with the epic, sweeping nature of the music.

I'd give the album a low 7 overall. Great start, great finish, forgettable middle. Production is very good and it certainly "feels" like the DMB we know and love in many places. There's a little intangible it factor missing overall but It's a pretty good record overall.

If we’re going to have to rate True Reflections, is there any way to give a rating lower than zero?Because I already used that for Stand Up, and TR is nowhere near that good.
