Enjoyed the tour. Went to 3 shows. Jones Beach was garbage except for the JTR opener. Holmdel was tits. Shoreline was average but great experience. I got my Seek Up. Nancies->WH NEVER gets old. Met Jon Koch and Craig gave me a setlist. Dave's vocal coach was hanging out with the couple next to us - gave them a pick, setlist and drumsticks.

Main takeaways from my only show this year, and first since Mansfield 2016:

- They're happy and relieved, prob mostly to be beyond Boyd troubles
- Shows are always fun if you go in without an entitled view on what they should play for you
- Carter felt a little...older. Doesn't have the same punch that he used to play with. "Father time is undefeated" - Charles Barkley
- This clearly is not the band I fell in love with. I let that go and it has helped. I think they could get closer back to that, but it would take airy (not canned) horns. Maybe losing Rashawn entirely, and picking up a fiddle at some point

Oh yeah in case it hadn't been mentioned, conductor was Beck's dad. David Campbell. He worked on strings on album, and maybe some in past too. Literally a spitting image version of Beck, if a tad older.

Just nabbed a poster from James Eads website. He released 120 signed prints at 3PM. They were all gone by 3:02PM.

Any ideas on who was in the orchestra? I've filled in a handful already, but I'd like to get the rest:

ORCHESTRA:
Dave Campbell - conductor
Adrienne Woods - cello
?? - cello
Jeff Coffin - clarinet
?? - double bass
?? - French horn
?? - tormbone
?? - viola
?? - viola
?? - viola
Ann Marie Calhoun - violin
?? - violin
?? - violin

HORNS:
Garrett Smith - trombone
Miguel Gandelman - saxophone
Ray Monteiro - trumpet

An album tour is rarely beloved on these boards. All things considered this wasn't bad in my opinion. Granted, I do like Come Tomorrow more than most. I also got pretty lucky with some of the big bust outs this summer.

Really excited to see them next summer on a non-album year though. This lineup is fresh.

I don't know them, sorry, but a question about this. Is this the type of thing you can reach out to management and they would do for you? Do you ever turn to them for any questions on things? Just curious how that all works.

The band won't be around forever. I've gotten to a point to take it for what it is, and grateful that it is still something.

Having an orchestra on stage was really freaking cool. Come On Come On is probably a little too slow, Here On Out sounds much better (though I don't love the song itself), and Squirm sounds really great with the string arrangement from the album. Glad they tried something different here, even if it didn't get everyone all horny over the choice of songs.
