I can see what you mean. It is kind of ominous and has some energy. I would absolutely rather hear Blackjack than any of the songs you listed. I'm as sick of saying this as I am of reading it, but with solid lyrics on a topic other than lust, it could evoke a feeling. The band sounds massive in certain sections.

I get this perspective; I really almost agree. I agree with, in fact, exactly two exceptions in the band's entire career so far: Blackjack and Come Tomorrow. Maybe Hunger, too.

Hunger is one I can't get into and I was a SU apologist when it first came out. I tried so hard to pretend I liked everything DMB in those days.

Yeah I remember spinning that in my car all summer. Had just graduated, moved, and taken my first job. Tried so hard to like it. That and X&Y... Looking back I feel like I want to kick my own yuppie ass.

I still have a soft spot for X&Y. SU not so much. But X&Y isnít a bad album. Hell, itís better than Ghost Stories, thatís for sure.

I haven't heard X&Y in years. I should listen to it again. I wish they'd gone with the later version of Talk instead of the earlier one that made the album.

X&Y is definitely better than Ghost Stories. A Head Full of Dreams, too.

See the lyrics are absolute trash, really wish he would come up with something set or at least understandable. And, he needs to play the guitar.

You want to hear Blackjack, then Sister or Steady as We Go, then You and Me, then Bayou??! Christ man, that is some serious masochism. Not sure I even want to hear the other songs you want in that run!

This is shittier than I remembered. Even with set lyrics the verses would still suck.

Blackjack is an abomination. I want it nowhere near an album, setlists or even tapes....I want it stricken from the record entirely.

Where's that option?

I think it's one of the worst songs I've ever heard. There's nothing good about it.

The lyrics are shit, but musically it's kinda catchy. I think it has a Help Myself vibe to it.

I agree. I really do.

But the fact that I don't hate Can't Stop on Come Tomorrow has proven to me that the bottom of the barrel shit can actually be somewhat salvaged.

It does kind of have that feeling and HM captured that dark feeling thematically, BJ (lol) might be able to get there with some work.

It leaves me feeling open to the thought that we're hearing an unfinished idea and if they put the time in it could improve. I'm not a fan of Can't Stop in that I want to listen to it but I like that they worked on it and finished it.
