What. the. fuck. i can't even....the band's material is worse today than back then, plain and simple. You guys want to justify some of the new songs so you can listened to new material, ok. But wow.....

I'm making the Stand Up comparison because of the production choices and incomplete song ideas on this album. This album is better than Stand Up. I'm not saying that it isn't. I'm just reminded of bullshit Mark Batson production choices on this album, like I heard in 2005. Certain songs on this album also feel like they were rushed in the studio. I'm not saying I don't like these songs. I'm merely pointing out, that from a production standpoint, this album suffers. Maybe I'm being too technical in my analysis. Not sure. I enjoy certain songs, even though they sound weak on the album. Does this make sense?

P.S. Of course VITR, B&BB, DYR, SC, A&A are good songs. I don't want to get knocked for that.

What songs sound like incomplete ideas to you? That Girl Is You could be fleshed out, sure. bkdkdkdd shouldn't be counted. What else isn't a completed song in your opinion?

To me the biggest questionable production element is the abrupt end to B&BB and that's not even on batson

Busted Stuff has always been a terrible representation of those songs. Everything sounds strange and empty, I'll take LWS or a live version over anything on that album.

I'm ranking studio albums on if I enjoy listening to them not the objective sum of their material. With that ranking BS would be a golden album aside from WAYG and its just not at all.

Come On Come On, That Girl Is You, and Idea of You. On the lyrics side, Come Tomorrow, Come On Come On, That Girl Is You.

Can't Stop, Be Yourself, and When I'm Weary are just garbage.

I voted 2. Better than stand up, but that's it. Sucks still imo.

My rating's dropped a point or so since my first listen. There are too many skippable, forgettable songs to be a cohesive album.

Agreed. Busted Stuff was solid, but Everyday and everything after....the production is atrocious to the point where it hurt my enjoyment of the actual songs.

I still can't believe the production on Stand Up. Like you think maybe it's just my memory of it's badness over stating it but no it's truly that unbelievably bad. Probably the most amateurish professional recording I've ever heard for a rock band.

I am going with a solid 7.5 rating. (a 7 on the poll I guess)

The run from IOY to DYR is my favorite run of songs from the ED-SU-BW-AFTW grouping of albums.

The beginning of the album is a little disjointed. I dont really even dislike any of the first few songs, but their grouping is not right.

This is a difficult album to rate as a whole. Half of the songs are really good, and a few of those are great. But the other half is just ok or complete garbage. Using this logic, I'd say a 5/10. But I don't feel that's fair for the really good songs. To me, this is half an album. AFTW is the far superior body of work, and BW is better as a whole as well, but I think the really great songs on CT are better than the best on BW and AFTW (with a few exceptions).
