Rate 'Come Tomorrow'

For the album, as a whole.....1 being the worst and 10 being the best.

I haven't listened yet, but will in an hour or so when the kid wakes up and I don't have to tiptoe around the home office anymore.

After one night, 3.5/5 (So, a 7).
Really can’t tell if that’ll go up or down at this point.

My first thought was 7 as well, which seems high. I've only been able to listen once so far so that'll probably come down but I've been more than pleasantly surprised and I'm still looking forward to listening more.

Fuck, I'm a 7 as well. I like it more than I anticipated, but the "Some Devil" comparisons were spot on.

EDIT: I truly got into DMB in 2001. Everyday was the first DMB album I bought and led me to really want to explore more from this band. I'm well aware it's not their best collection of music and I'm sure I'd be disgusted if I was around for the big 3, heard the LWS (which would rank very high here if released), and then ended up with Everyday. But I still go back to it all the time because it reminds me of my first in-depth exposure to this band and then wanting to hear so much more of what they could do.

AFTW and BW were fine albums that I enjoyed but don't often revisit. Stand Up was truly awful all around. Come Tomorrow falls somewhere in between there, maybe closer to SU than AFTW/BW for me. But hey, this is all subjective anyway.

Solid 7, as an album it doesn't quite flow so well and suffers from some odd production decisions, but as a collection of songs I would say I really enjoy at least 10/14 of them.

My tentative album ranking: (Spoilered for possible controversial picks lol)

Spoiler:

BTCS (9)
UTTAD (9)
LWS (8)
Big Whiskey (8)
Busted Stuff (7)
Crash (7)
Come Tomorrow (7)
Away From The World (6)
Everyday (5)
Stand Up (2)

5. A handful of good songs and a handful of not so good songs.

Right now I want to give it a 6, but that feels too high. But 5 feels too low, so I’m going to give it another listen before I lock in my rating. This is a tough album to lock down for me.

I'm surprised people have CT have this high, not saying it's a problem because it's subjective, but I don't think the band will ever come close to touching BTCS, UTTAD, Crash, and LWS for me.

I'm giving it a solid 7.

Very pleasantly surprised with Come Tomorrow as a whole. I was truly apathetic to this release, especially when That Girl is You came out. However, after 2 listens, I'm impressed. Considering the Boyd situation and having way too many cooks in the kitchen production wise, I feel like this is an album that accurately reflects this current era of DMB.

Favorite Songs: Again and Again, Virginia in the Rain, She, Samurai Cop, Come On Come On, and Black and Blue Bird.

I'd rank it ahead of Everyday, SU, and AFTW.

I didn't mean for that / to be in there.
I ranked just below LWS.
I think it's their most authentic record in a long time.
It's not 1998 DMB, but it was never going to be.

My rankings are about the same as marcelinos, I'm throwing Busted Stuff out because that was made under a weird set of circumstances and I feel CT is way better than ED, SU, Grux and AFTW

So that leaves it slot in right behind the big 3 with the acknowledgment that CT would still be miles away from touching the Big 3, if that makes sense

Interesting how the rankings are pretty close together but the lists of songs in order of preference are all over the place. We generally think this album is basically fine but each like different things about it.
