Said it in the other thread and I have a feeling I'll keep saying it for a long time, Virginia in The Rain is one of the best studio tracks in the last 15 years, since Some Devil. I don't think it's the best song in the last 15 years, but the production, Tim's fills, Dave's vocals....and in a time where squeaks is so overbearing drowning everything out having this gigantic ego along the way...he actually took a step back on this one and allowed the serious nature of the arrangement to speak for itself instead of trying to inject cutesy little horn riffs all over the place. I did not like this song when I first heard it live, but god damn if the studio cut doesn't capture me.

Virginia in the Rain and Again and Again back to back is quite a powerhouse combo.

can't help but think how B&BB would've turned out with a banjo and a proper ending

This would've been best-case scenario.

Opposite for me.. that's the highlight of the album upon for the first 2 spins.

For those who don't like it, why is that? Just curious.

I dunno, I hate everything about it. It's lazy. no depth to the music or lyrics. straight ahead rocker is not my preferred DMB though...

It's a genre of music they keep trying to revisit with one song each album and I just feel like they're 20 years late trying this sound out

generic rock to me that just doesn't work with any incarnation of the band imo
