Is Dave playing drums on this one too? Sounds like it. The bridge is atrocious.

Hearing the horns come through at the end is one huge disappointment, just fucking wow what a letdown

Had a chance to listen to this a few times, and it's...bearable. That's about it. It still disappoints me to see how the live version came to this. I hate the strings on this track. They're the most unnecessary part of this track. I think the thing that disappoints me most, is Stefan's part. It was funky as hell live. That bass line should be in full jerk, but nope. They tamed the shit out of it.

That's it, Sir.
I understand.

The horns don't just come in at the end. They are in the mix, albeit low but they are present. I think they could use a boost but we aren't listening to a high-quality version.

agreed. there is absolutely no place for those strings on this track - bring back the rapist if they want to add some strings to the mix. that glossy hollywood polished string group sucks balls on this.

Should we have been surprised that there were string arrangements on here?

IIRC, there was that IG post back in 2016 of sheet music that leaked from the orchestration sessions. "Bob Law" was one of those songs. (Here on Out and Bismarck were the others.)

If Boyd couldve added anything he wouldve played it during the year the song was being played live. He didnt and probably couldnt add to the song.

I swear I actually heard him on one version, but I couldn't tell you what show it was.

I actually really like this one. Can't wait for better quality. Do not like the fade out at the end. And as many have said turn up the horns.

depends how they are used IMO - sometimes I like they both, though favor Jeff's sound as well

I think, when most of us say 'horns, ' we mean Jeff. But we also know that Rashawn is part of the package and you can't have one without the other these days.

I miss Roi, he's the sound of horns I really wish the band still had. However, I wish they would let Jeff be Jeff, and Ross has been better this year. That's where I'm at in May 2018.

There are 3 people here who like Rashawn. One is his mom, one will play the, ďif you donít enjoy Rashawn, you clearly donít, like, get jazz, man,Ē and the 3rd has put on a few pounds over the last few years, so having ĎShawnie around just makes him feel a little more comfortable in his own skin.

I'm pro-horns. I like having both trumpet and sax. That said, these two guys can never replace what Roi did for this band.
