Hello, my name is blumathu, and I am a fan of That Girl is You. I last listened to it about 30 seconds ago. I'll probably listen to it again soon.

Its ok, the first step is admitting, the second is to turn off your computer.

But I like the music a lot. Dunno why, because it also sounds a little overproduced everywhere. I get what everyone is saying about the vocal take. It sounds like a live improv complete with scratchiness. I listen and generally like live improvs like this. I understand that people don't think that should be on a record, but this isn't a normal album so it's ok to me that normal rules don't apply and I'm not really compartmentalizing what should be an album and what wasn't.

Since it was clear that this album was a collection of things past and present, I have been intentionally trying to expect and listen to it for what it is. The normal "what I expect from a DMB album" doesn't apply here. I don't like everything. I've listened to Come Together once and just not my thing whaaaaaaatsoever.

But I appreciate this safe place.
welcome

This. On first listen I really like how different it is. But it's not finished. Add a solo or two, a bridge, and some direction and it could be great.

Maybe this will flourish more in the live setting, but how in the hell is Dave gonna sing this one consistently?

it's weird like Boyd.. but I still like Boyd... I really don't know what to make of this song. I have to hear it within the context of a full album play not that it will really make that much difference

I get it.
I think this song is exactly equivalent to Don't Burn the Pig.
But they didn't put that on an album.
if Dave played this song tonight mindset, I'd like it and look forward to its development
But this song is a finished product, and as a finished product, it's awful.
