Dave said it was just recorded loops on Sirius XM, and he wrote the lyrics recently. When you hear the start of the song, you can definitely hear that its just a loop that plays over and over. It has standup sessions written all over it. Then he layered on new (shitty) lyrics.

Ah OK, haven't been keeping up with interviews. Makes sense.

Do we know if Dave did his vocals for IOY recently? Guessing so since there are set lyrics now.

I think it was dobyblue that mentioned the vocals for IOY were recorded in January of this year.

I wonder why they re-recorded the vocals. I'd imagine they had to have had vocals laid down for it previously.

Fantastic review. Nails pretty much exactly my feelings on this one though I'd give it a C+.

I would highly suggest hearing the SiriusXM interview. Its a track by track interview with Dave on each song. Id say if you spend any time with anything regarding this album (including the board) it should be that.

Total guesses here:
1. Dave's voice sounded a bit different 12 years ago, makes for a more cohesive feel to have them recorded at the same time as the rest of the tracks.
2. He didn't like the original lyrics.

Those seem like reasonable guesses.

Whatever the reason, the final lyrics capture the feeling without being creepy. It was a good move. I was happy to hear the back seat line make it to the final version.

I feel we have, but I can't call it though. The first time I heard it, I said to myself, "I've heard this before."

Or

3. The lyrics they had were about an old man lusting after a school aged girl and inche age of #skreeto, those donít fly.

I've said it a couple of other posts, but his vocal delivery on this track is on point. When he stays within his current vocal range, he can still sounds really good. I know it's not the deepest song lyrically, but I love the melody of the chorus.

Ah shit, i thought you guys were talking about Come Tomorrow. Im 99% sure that was written 10 years ago during Standup and he wrote the lyrics recently.

Too much Come on this album
