For those who haven't gotten those 2 new Fallon tracks I posted about (a page or 2 back) - they're both really, really good.....and are in fact on Itunes.

I have really warmed up to the Horrible Crowes disc too. It's still my 4th favorite of the 4 albums........but it's damn good in its own right.

Yea that Boxer is so great. I like that with the 3 originals on the EP, 1 is "new", and the other two are reworkings, keeps it fresh. Just a great little album. Brian just slays Baba O'Riley. Who does the "Don't cry..." part? Because they sound fantastic as well.

i'm almost positive that's brian. i've seen a live video of him doing it and he almost does a different voice altogether for it there too.

Solid release. Dig the choice of covers.

this song "Our Fathers' Sons" is really cool too. I believe it was a track that was recorded for '59 Sound but didn't make the record.

I think that one is just ok. Definitely a B Side type cut. Not bad by any means though.

i really dug that song. great vibe in that one. the reworking of navesink banks is pretty awesome, but the real standout (besides the covers) is that Boxer. i mean, just holy shit that's awesome

fantastic version of Great Expectations with Chuck Ragan. i love the Warbrain (Alkaline Trio) interlude in place of Night Moves.

That's definitely a sick version. I love Brian acoustic, though he seems to have some trouble deciding what octave to sing in that setting sometimes, not necessarily applicable to that video, just an observation I made after watching a bunch of his YouTube clips.

as far as cohesive-ness goes, i think that "tag" in the bridge works a lot better than Night Moves. if you didn't know any better it works as an actual part of the rest of the song.

I've never really listened to Alkaline Trio. Do they have a definitive album or starting point?

From Here To Infirmary and the B sides collection Remains are together a great starting point.

perfect middle ground between their early straightforward punk sound and the polished thing they've got going on now. last few albums have really stunk, but they used to a be a fucking great band.
