If f anyone has first hand knowledge on what would be "best" for this situation please advise...

Looking to secure 4 tickets to a show in order to take my three kids with me.
The options (due to tic limits and my schedule) are Camden n2, Hartford, Darien.

I believe Hartfords pit is big, Camdens is pretty small and Darien I can't recall.
None have a big slope so for them to see that gives and edge to Camden I think (since I have pretty good seniority)

Please give me any feedback or suggestions you have along with the order you would say is best for the kids.
Tia

Edit - not sure which show(s) would have higher demand making it harder to get tix either.
Or the flip side selling uppers if I can find upgrades down the road

I can't speak to Darien, but if you're interested in the pit definitely Hartford over Camden. The pit in Camden is a shitshow every year no matter where you are. Hartford has plenty of room in the pit for all of you and I've seen kids in there before and they were fine.

Darien probably has the lowest ticket demand of the three. Let me know if you want me to put any requests in for you, would be happy to help you out.

I agree, Camden's pit is no place for kids. I've been in there the past 3 years, it's always over sold. I usually stand as far back and to the side as i can, hoping to have some space. But we were still up against other fans.

Go out on the lawn with your 3 kids in Camden. The lawn has been only about 40% full, if that, plenty of space for you and the family.

Thanks for the input guys. I was actually thinking of lower reserved because those three venues allow you to order four tix. Thus I was leaning toward Camden because of the smaller pit. Ie be closer??

In a perfect world I would score tix to Lakeview since it’s literally 5 mins from my house but they only have a 2 tic limit :/

I saw the Wall live and it was amazing. and I paid maybe $60. If you felt that way about Waters, why pay $250? That seems ridiculous.

When it comes to the general public, I would bet most are not as offended as some people on here. It is what it is these days. It costs a lot to see the big acts. I really hope some people didn't expect them to charge less because they took a year off and "aren't relevant" anymore.
DMB peaked in 2000-ish. They are not a "big band" anymore in the pop culture. They also don't have the benefit of being part of the Dead, and getting those baby boomers in for nostalgia. a nearly 50% increase in tickets year over year is ridiculous. You're not getting "more show" and it's certainly not a nostalgia tour - it'll be new material taking up a lot of those slots.

I paid around $300 for two field Taylor Swift tickets a few years back. Had an absolute blast. Also helped that the beer lines and wait for the men’s restroom were both nonexistent. Haha. It’s all about the experience!

First of all, that's insane. But even so, TS is part of the current culture and is in high demand for youth and older people alike. DMB is not that group and doesn't warrant that price.

DMB also tours every year. No causal fan is ever thinking, oh i have to seem this year when they come to town. The other acts mentioned before (Coldplay, U2, Taylor Swift..) only tour every 3 or so years.

yup, that's always been the best part of taking my daughters to those types of events. This reminds me, when I took them to see Taylor Swift at the Nassau Coliseum about maybe 8 years ago, I went to the men's room during the show in a pretty empty concourse, and when I walked out Taylor was practically face-to-face with me as her handlers were rushing her from the main stage to a runway-type stage in the back of the floor section. We gave each other an "um, hi" type greeting. My daughters were pretty jealous when I told them back at the seats

They didn't tour last year. Taylor Swift seems to have shows most years, from looking at setlist.fm.

I have no idea what you're reading....
[Only registered users can see links.]

Setlistfm has her with 11 shows in 2017: 5 radio station concerts, two tv shows, a radio show, two "shows from her house", and one small club in texas.

Setlistfm has her with 7 shows in 2016, which are even crazier, and each deserve their own line:
February 15th: The Grammys
February 20th: Two songs with a cover band at someone's wedding in Thememan's neighborhood
March 19th: One song at Reese Witherspoon's Birthday Party
June 4th: One song at a fan's wedding in New Jersey
July 12th: One song at a children's hospital in Brisbane Australia
October 22: A full set at a Gormula 1 Grand Prix race (????)
December 26: One song at an unknown venue in New Madrid Missouri for no explained reason

Fair enough, and that's another reason why ticket prices should be lower. Shows are less rare.

I’m not comparing the two, just saying I saw her show and had a great time not fighting with drunks.

Sorry if this has been answered, is there a CITI pre-sale for the summer tour? Or just that D/T show in NYC?

And yeah most of those people cheering for Dream Girl and You & Me saw “Dave” last summer.

Here's an interesting tidbit from Pollstar

2015 DMB averaged 14,751 tickets sold per show (708,054 / 48 shows)

2016 DMB averaged 14,796 tickets sold per show (710,215 / 48 shows)

2017 Dave and Tim averaged 14,145 per show.

Don't most of these venues hold like 25,000 people?
