Update? How you doing bro? I hope well

So far so good. I'm still feeling weak on my left side, but both physical and occupational therapy have checked me out and are happy with where I am. Looks like I'm going to get out of the ICU today and go home tomorrow or Friday at the latest. It sounds like everyone expects a full recovery with a little time and work. I'm lucky. The nurses tell me that most people on this floor can't walk or talk at all and I'm doing both without much trouble.

Glad to hear it

I know you and your family have spent more time around med facilities than desired lately and I can feel a healthy streak coming based on your recovery!

I took my students to a place called Sector 6 here in New Orleans last year. it's a place that has a ton of trampolines and you can play dodgeball and basketball on the trampolines, and just jump around. it's really fun....UNTIL I forgot about my heel spur, which the next day was brutal. Went to the doctor and my heel spur was pushing on my achilles heel. the option was to just put on a boot and take a ton of percocet or get surgery where they cut through my achilles, scoop out the spur, then sew back up the achilles/heel. I opted for the percocet, but it hurt for months.

Basically my left foot feels like its asleep all the time, but speech therapy checked out my speech and cognition today and discharged me with no order for continued therapy. Physical therapy is recommending that I go to an inpatient rehab, but both my neuro doc and my floor nurse are demanding they re-evaluate me, because they both think I'm ready to go home. I'm still stuck on the ICU floor because no bed has opened up for me on step-down. Still looking good for discharge tomorrow, but nothing is certain. I'll keep you guys posted, and thanks for all the well-wishes. It's been a pretty scary week, but I'm in better condition now than I was Monday.

Physical therapy just cleared me for discharge. Should be seeing my doc soon, and hopefully discharged this afternoon.

Nice! One day at a time.

That said, no "lesser level of care" beds available at the hospital? Hope you aren't hit with the ICU rate longer than needed....yeeeeesh.

They did finally move me last night. I'm on the step down floor right now.

No, Lipitor and three different blood pressure drugs, but not that one.
