Not really familiar with this Hamilton guy. What's a must listen guest spot?

Grace from the Gorge. It's absolutely perfect.

starts at 1:55:31

Then stick around for The Last Stop right after it.

You guys are really going to spend hundreds of dollars again on this band that doesn't sound anything like it used to and only uses its name as a front?

Last summer was a nice experiment, but come on. It amazes me to think they can get away with playing their older songs without a violin player or for that matter, make new music without it.

Why go see them? Just for shits and giggles? Cause its what you are used to?

You’re surprised people on a dmb message board (in 2019) are excited to catch a few shows?

People still like Dave and carter and Tim and Jeff and Stefan. Still like hearing some of the old songs too.

Is it really any different than Boyd standing up there sawing away while being muted?

When I saw them last year, my favorite thing was Buddy's piano solo where Boyd's used to be in Seek Up. I don't know what to tell you. A bunch of musicians I like are making good music.

Basically. There were years I saw them 7 times. I haven't seen a show since May, 2016.....so I'll try my best to catch one this year, either Bristow or Bethel, mostly for nostalgia's sake.

There's nothing wrong with liking/still participating in things that are different than they used to be.

I know its a hot take but I think DMB is still pretty fucking good.

I don't have much of a desire to go see them anymore (1 show since 2015) but why crap on people's parade who want to go enjoy a night out at a show? I'm pretty sure most everybody is aware they aren't what they were in their prime, but if they still like the band and want to go have fun at a show on a summer night I see nothing wrong with that at all.

I've been ready for Boyd to go for over 10 years. Best thing that has happened to this band's music.

I neglected this part the first time. So Dave Matthews should never be able to make new music without a violin in it?

So the Bandolin*

And I only point out the difference because no one will ever be able to top the true mandolin player DMB once had

I think Hamilton will be a great addition. He doesn't have to play on every song. Just listened to his Grace from Gorge. It's very good
