This thread made me change my playlist for the day - I forgot how great some of his songs are!
I had Crocodile Rock on 45, and played it constantly on my little plastic record player. ![]()

Can you screen shot this? I've been listening to him a ton lately but I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of good studio stuff. The fact that he had a song as good as Mona lisas & mad hatters that I didn't even hear until my 20's makes me want to uncover any more gems like that.

Yeah, I'll type it out tomorrow. To start though, just listen to Tumbleweed Connection a few times through.

Seriously though, don't miss 1989's Sleeping with the Past, 1992's The One, 1995's Made in England, 2001's Songs from the West Coast and last year's The Diving Board. Oh, and the collaboration with Leon Russel from 2010, The Union.
I love all the studio albums from after Reg Strikes Back and onward. Except that shite Duets. Here are some great songs from that era: Healing Hands Whispers Club at the End of the Street Simple Life Sweat it Out Whitewash County The Last Song House Latitude Lies If the River Can Bend (from 1997's The Big Picture) The Panic in Me (from 2000's The Road to El Dorado soundtrack) The Emperor's New Clothes American Triangle Birds I Want Love Turn the Lights Out When You Leave (from 2004's Peachtree Road) Postcards from Richard Nixon (from 2006's The Captain & the Kid) The Best Part of the Day 5th Avenue (bonus song from latest album) Oceans Away Oscar Wilde Gets Out A Town Called Jubilee (reminds of something from Tumbleweed Connection) Home Again |

Yeah, I'm a big fan of 'Made in England'. Wish I could snag that one on Vinyl to go with the rest of the discography I've gotten.

but really, download ALL of his albums and listen for yourself (I'm not a fan of 1969's Empty Sky, but hey, to each their own)

Funeral for a Friend, Love Lies Bleeding is such a bad ass way to open a show.

I love Idol from Blue Moves. Hell, that whole album is underrated.

Official '69 through the Early '70s, all the way up to 1976 then mid-90's + fuck everything from 1977 to 1988 with a few exceptions Elton John Thread
Nashville Skyline by Dylan. Some call it the first “alt country” album.
