We are a house that nixed HBO after GOT. Obviously that platform and this new one have some cash to throw at a revival. Any other reasons to consider HBO anymore? What are you guys watching on there?
While I'm a Friends fanatic, I agree with the producers of this show who once said something to the effect of - "The show was created for a specific point in one's life (20 and 30s) - no one wants to see 50 year old friends "hanging out"."

Genuine question since I'm sure there's maybe been a couple of success stories, but what comedy property has had a sequel/revival 10+ years later that didn't suck?

Just leave it alone. There's no point in doing Friends again now, it had it's moment. Obviously money drives decisions but at least in some instances there's creative territory worth exploring even if it's a cash grab; in this case there is none. Let it be.

I agree. Couldn’t care less about any of these revivals. I couldn’t even get through the newest seasons of AD.

Yeah, I loved the first three seasons of Arrested Development, only saw a few episodes of the next season and that was it for me. A Friends reboot does nothing for me.

I really disliked Fringe's final season. Like The X-Files it just went on for too long. And I never bought the love between them. In either show. Platonic, sure, but romantic? Nah.

Both Game of Thrones and The Sopranos also lost steam as they went along. But I never gave up, hoping in vain that they'd correct the fatigue. Same with Earth: Final Conflict and House of Cards (US). (There's been a few shows like that...)

Shows I didn't have a problem with include: Babylon 5, Treme, The Wire, Breaking Bad, The Shield, Justified, Cracker (US), Law & Order (original), Oz, Lexx, Bloodline, Deadwood, Rome, Brotherhood, etc. I admit some of them were canceled/ended after only a few seasons. That probably helped in the long run.

Haven't watched any of the new Star Trek. And I stopped watching The Walking Dead, True Detective, Better Call Saul after thier first seasons. Got bored I guess.

Looking forward to getting back into Ray Donovan, Archer, Mindhunter, Castle Rock, Arrested Development, Red Dwarf, Trailer Park Boys, Black Mirror, Westworld and Luther though.

Never seen Stranger Things or Twin Peaks... as I said, I'm far behind...

I’m considering the new Disney bundle with Hulu and espn. Does anyone know if the espn channels included have nba games? Or is it just college content?

If ESPN is airing an NBA game, you'll have access to that NBA game. But it isn't like NBA League Pass if that's what you're asking.

I signed up for that bundle yesterday. I’m not a big sports guy, but I downloaded the app and got signed in. According to the app, The Clippers/Rockets and Warriors/Lakers games are streaming on the app tonight.

My mistake. Im aware of the news of a “Friends Revival” but that is not what I was talking about. I was referring to the “revival of HBO” with this new platform. One of the first shows it acquired is the old Friends.

While I love Friends, I have very little interest in some kind of revival show.

I watched the first episode yesterday. I thought it was great. My family has basically lived in it since Tuesday.

Friday’s ep of The Madalorian was pretty cool. That one character... is a trip.

I liked the 2nd episode of Mandalorian, but I fear they gotta move things along a bit quicker... there are only 8 episodes.

I had a similar thought. It was a fun adventure, but it felt like a lot of story time to basically end up in the same place that it started. Although the reveal about that character was pretty awesome, even if I was expecting it.
