i'll say that, demand aside, i fully agree that they're ticket prices are too high. that is mainly why i don't go to even one show a year anymore and why i'm not going to the STL show this year. not when i can see any number of bands i like just as much, if not more, for like 1/4 of the price and they put on just as good of a show if not a better show and practically have the frontman's sweat hit me in the face.

1 I edited in that I meant still sell next summer, too.
2 fall 2010 was only 12 shows. The rumor is a 30 show fall tour this year. They can do a mini Christmas run. They can't do a '98 esque fall tour. (that was 34 shows)

well i'm not sure i buy into the specific rumor of 30+ shows in the fall. but i wouldn't be surprised if it was something in between like 15-20 shows or something.

Why does Mario have a savant-like obsession with ticket sales?

AFTW in a way is a return, or calls back to the BTCS sessions in terms of writing/developing songs with steve in a studio. Rather than a "b-sides album" of recordings from over the years, it'd be great if they went into the studio to recorded well polished road songs like the crash and uttad session.

Tickets ARE way too expensive and I can see the draw slowing a bit. The back third of Hershey's stands were pretty sparse last night and the back qrtr of the field was thin. Expected that thing to fill up

That's in line with my pulling ten seat bunches halfway back in the stands yesterday.

I feel like the front was way more crowded than 2010. Last night was pretty packed and not much room to move.

Also, to the guy in red DMB jersey with the fat girlfriend. I do not care if you can sing the drum parts to Crush at the top of your lungs and then pretend to be Dave and introduce Carter Beauford on the drums after the song.

So stagehands at venues are told not to look at Dave and are instructed to look at the ground if they pass him or if he passes them.

Don't know how true that is but that's what I just read on Ants

I love how Ross and Coffin keep changing up some of the horn section of YMDT.

Exactly.

Though, it's possible dmb ordered this because otherwise Dave would talk to all of them and not make it to the stage until 10:15 every night.

But it doesn't jive with what basically every opening act has ever said.

Remember the story when he first moved to seattle? He was walking down the street to get coffee one morning and saw this dude and his pregnant wife trying to carry a sofa into their house so he went over and replaced her. Then he ended up helping for like an hour and they never recognized him.
