Had low water pressure after dinner last night, but didn’t really think anything of it. Got to bed about 10:30 and 15 minutes later the phone rang with an automated message from my kids’ school saying that school is cancelled today due to the water outage. Turns out my whole end of town had basically no functioning water system all night. It’s fixed now, but the entire county is under a boil advisory and all the schools are closed. My office is a ghost town. We’re at maybe 1/2 the usual staff or less. Water is a weird thing to not have, you take it so for granted.

Very true. A few weeks ago my complex was making the rounds to replace faucets and shower heads. The water would periodically come and go (expected but unpredictable). I’ve been keeping at least 5 gallons of spare water around at any time for years so at least we had drinking/cooking water but I had to shower at night for a while. I much prefer showering in the morning, but a small complaint. Flint would rightfully laugh in my face.

Not to sound too stoned but frequently I look around at our full fridge, filtered drinking water, furnace, cars, phones and more and feel super fortunate. So many things I used to take for granted that I think a lot more about now as I “gain perspective” (get older).

Don't let them do it, they're low pressure. You'll find yourself buying a shower head they use to wash elephants from a guy in a van in a dark alley.

Filled my keurig reservoir today using the water from my LG fridge (3.5 years old, replaced the water filter in there with a cheap after-market one last week) and found black, stringy floaters in the water. Took the filter out, threw it away and instantly ordered a manufacturer direct $52 filter....hoping that does the trick and there's not just tons of algae and bacteria in the water line in the fridge. Ugh.

The faucets are lower pressure and save some water but the new shower-head is a big improvement and came with settings options!

quick update. My front office manager quit. My Assistant General Manager asked me yesterday if I want the job. Of course I said yes. He said he is going to push for me to get the job but he isn't the final say. He also said the other supervisor 'will not' get the job.
