Counting Crows

I am just getting into this band. Greta lyrics, great songs...underrated band, IMO

They have some good tunes. I don't think they have the same re-listening value as a band like DMB, but I'll definitely listen to their greatest hits CD once every few months.

Fucking terrible. Only second to Aerosmith in the "Bands that haven't aged well" category.

Is this 1994-1999? No? Well stop listening to the Counting Crows.

Considering they can't even draw a sizable crowd as a co-headliner, I think it's safe to say most people have indeed stopped. It's a shame.

Really? Think they still bring something worthwile to the table? With all the cancelled concerts and bitching and whining Duritz does. There are 1000 other musicians that deserve even half the success that the Counting Crows have, but yet Adam Duritz seems to appreciate none of it. Drives me crazy.

i agree he's a big baby

but that doesn't make "up all night" any less cool

and there are definitely some decent songs on the new record, though it doesn't really hold up with the ones before it. hanging tree should have been a single, without the cough.

i was discussing this band with my wife, who likes them much more than i do, last night. i was talking to her about how they either need to continue to make studio records on par with their earlier ones OR they need to put on great consistently great concerts where adam sings the right words and everyone comes away happy. i mean, yeah, both would be better, but right now its leaning towards neither and if they continue down that road, they will lose whatever relevance they have left pretty quickly.

but i still enjoy what they do a lot.

oh and sorry for the personal attack. if i remind you that i was jumping for joy when the penguins won the cup, can we still be friends?

i couldn't care less about adam's personality and cry baby antics, it has nothing to do with the music and my enjoyment of it. neither does what decade they were popular in and whether or not they're popular now, again it has nothing to do with the music. if that were the case i'd just stop listening to third eye blind, counting crows, gin blossoms, etc. altogether.

Oh, I'll listen to the older albums and concerts (listened to RTS today, actually)....all I'm saying is they suck as they are now, with Duritz dropping out of almost everything he does.
