Good on him for no repeats. More acts should do that.
I've always been perplexed by bands who play the same exact show every night. It makes sense for certain pop acts with a whole production for the show, but otherwise a) how does that not get super boring as a musician, and b) mixing up your sets on a nightlight basis, even if it's swapping in a handful of different songs and moving the slots around each night, will make people more likely to want to catch you multiple times on a given tour. Seems like an easy win win for all parties.

I'm with you on this. Maybe Mayer's time with Dead/Co helped him appreciate this type of an approach - he certainly has a catalogue large enough to do it.

I see bands that mix it up a ton and bands that don't. It's the single biggest factor in whether or not I hit more than one show per tour. So I guess I reward the bands that mix it up by seeing them way more. I agree in that it seems very boring to play the same songs, in the same order, with the same solos night in and night out. I wouldn't enjoy that.

But if you go to one night of a two-night stand, you only have a 50% chance of hearing Your Body Is A Wonderland. Can you deal with that uncertainty????

Mayer mentioned mixing up sets as one thing he's learned from his time with Dead and Co., so that is exactly the reason.

$49.50-$150 is the price range, not awful but a bit more than I'm willing to pay for a decent ticket to see John Mayer in 2019.

Wow, i guess i need to stop getting upset at DMB's $115 ticket price if Mayer is charging $150

Yep. I checked the presale and the only lowers were way in the back or to the extreme side and no way I'm paying that much for those. I'll try to grab something closer to the show.

It’s still end stage based on all the seating charts/on-sales. I assume he meant that they are selling behind the stage.
