The report points out that China has taken a lead in renewable energy and is now the world’s largest producer, exporter and installer of solar panels, wind turbines, batteries and electric vehicles.
Quote:
“The renewables revolution enhances the global leadership of China, reduces the influence of fossil fuel exporters and brings energy independence to countries around the world,” said Grimsson, speaking at the launch of the report. “The transformation of energy brings big power shifts.”

“My overarching concern right now is the economic development. Tesla put 150,000 new Model 3s on the market. That’s 150,000 cars that don’t consume gasoline. And it’s not just Tesla. Porsche, Audi, and BMW are all coming out with all-electric vehicles in 2019. So the inelasticities of demand in this market are fundamentally changing,”

Love Cathie Wood...she is one smart cookie. She talks about Tesla at the beginning, but then about other industries as well.

If the warm cycles of the N.A.O. (North Atlantic Oscillation) are associated with huge losses of ice, and the cool cycles only pause the melting, it suggests a threshold has been reached: As average temperatures rise further, melting will be more sustained, and the cooling cycles will have less of an effect in slowing the ice loss.

The plan to eliminate coal-burning plants as well as nuclear means that Germany will be counting on renewable energy to provide 65% to 80% of the country’s power by 2040. Last year, renewables overtook coal as the leading source and now account for 41% of the country’s electricity.

Our president is a demented asshat of just EPIC proportions. Have you read his tweets today? “Wish some of that Global warming would come back!” (In the face of the vortex)

He is just...when will he be ousted for his mental illness? It is LOOOOONGG overdue.

She is amazing. Also, no judgement of course, but it probably helps that she has Asperger's.

Los Angeles is abandoning a plan to spend billions of dollars rebuilding three natural gas power plants along the coast, Mayor Eric Garcetti said Monday, in a move to get the city closer to its goal of 100% renewable energy and improve air quality in highly polluted communities.

This is fucking hilarious and yet sad for humanity......

1) what happened to Republicans and their "we don't pick winners or losers, let the market do that"?
2) From this statement, they seemed to be forgetting the huge source of energy in the sky that has been there for billions of years.....

Quote:
"We sit on hundreds of years of supply of the most reliable, most stable, most affordable source of electricity production that the world has ever known," Bevin said. "There is no capacity now if we shut this facility and others like it to provide what America needs."
