We went over this a few weeks ago.

The sets now of days suck bad compared to 2000. 2000 is considered one of the best tours ever with amazing sets and the sets generally weren't ruined by the ladies. The ladies weren't playing on be your self, you and me, rooftop, smooth rider and can't stop in 2000. Also the ladies only showed up for a few staudiom shows that tour. Plus you had a whole month with the flecktones in September. It was different times.

DMB management is still organizing the tours on Windows 95, using AOL icons, almost 100% consistently botching shipping, not proofing 20-year anniversary releases, and offering its fanclub laughably underwhelming goodies that arrive late. I think it would be amazing if even one person in their camp so much as suggested webcasting anything.

Good question.

I wasn't a DMB fan until a year later and never minded them on Listener Supported. I also don't mind them on studio Stay.

I think I've just come to view them as a crutch. It's one more thing DMB is beating into the ground - again, in this case. It was a novel idea back in 1998/1999, but, especially now, is a retread. Hell, it probably sucked for people back in 2000/2001.

Besides, do they really need 3 of them?

FIrst off, no one around here was happy when the LL showed up in 2000. Second, here are the songs that the LL sang on in 2000:

Stay
LBV
#36
JTR
Busted Stuff
True Reflections
Granny
BOWA

I'm not going to list the songs that they sang on in the past two years, but I think you get the point.

Well I was around in the 2000 minarets.net and DMBMailing List days and people never even mentioned the ladies. However, I do think that the fact that the setlists are kind of crap now compared to then is the cause. I think it's the shows themselves and not necessarily the ladies.

You are delusional if you think people didn't hate the ladies as much then as they do now. In fact I would say they were more hated then because a lot more people still actually cared.

Oh, they're webcasting it. No one else got the flyer in the mail from Rolling Stone Network / JamTV talking about the exclusive streaming of this show?

Yeah, people didn't like the LL in 2000, but they fucking hated them in 2001.

The ladies are not needed. They add absolutely nothing. All they add is making the setlist worse and worse and runs like this

Rootop
Sledge hammer
Smooth rider
I did it
Can't stop
Every day
Angel
You and me
Stay

There were songs where they sounded fine, if unnecessary, but for the majority of what they've ever done with the band they're either incongruous or distracting.

The only thing I remember exactly was the meltdown that happened when they showed up on BOWA. There were already people who felt like they were being shoehorned into songs where they had no business being used, and that one broke the floodgates wide open.

Because they have no minimum level of appreciation for the band. Literally anything they do will be received rapturously and desperately hoped for in the future.
