Just cause how many pages did we spend arguing about it? It's obviously the right move.

It isn't perfect, but I think it is pretty fantastic. Great that they made this a digital download, $35 is a decent enough price for some fine performances and instant/desired classic tracks.

I did my part with the 24-bit vinyl, pay me back

That's the rub, should have been included for people who bought the vinyl to begin with

Truth

Without the pictures it's still a rip off imo
I would have paid up to $50 for the digital files and pictures

Should of given us the option of a digital download from the start

They wanted to overcharge for the vinyl....even the $35 is high considering you spend 13.99 for this many tracks on a LT w bonus disc....

I would find it hard to believe that there were no plans. Maybe no plans at the time, but they would eventually sell it.

Your choice to believe it or not, but I asked and that was the answer. I was told I could pass the message along, which doesn't happen that often.

The samples in the WH store sounded good. These are going to be the digital files they used to cut the vinyl, so they'll be free of any flaws that a transfer from vinyl back to digital might have.

The better vinyl rip that got linked to has kind of boomy bass; the FLAC is better in that respect. Otherwise the same, to my ears.

I got the vinyl but I'm very tempted to get the 24bit FLACs

Even if that's true, they should email anyone who bought the vinyl a download code since these were only sold directly through them. They'd rather get the double money grab though.

I don't disagree. I'm one of them and don't want to spend another $35. Just responding to the lack of belief that it wasn't in the plans.

Not suprising, people forget that the only way to get the more dynamic mastering of the first 5 Live Trax is to buy the vinyl...none of those came with a digital download and even with the Sony Legacy releases the downloads with RR95 and Crash were the original CD masterings; I don't think there's a precedent here for people "deserving" to be given for free the original source files from the vinyl release.

I bought the 24/96 download, I think it sounds very good but anyone checking will discover that only Snow Outside and Granny>BEF were from 24/96 sources, the rest were all anything from 16/44.1 ~ 24/48. I believe they moved to 24/96 for archival purposes in late 2010 just before the LT28 show. Still for only $5 extra for me the 24/96 option was a no-brainer.
