As soon as I get my iPod updated here with the box set i'm going straight to that 45 min Playin'. I want to know what a 45 min Playin' sounds like.
Okay, we have a problem. Playin' stops audio after a min or so in. I hope there's not more songs incomplete on this set. Not a good look. Had to call the Dead store and file a complaint ticket. Ugh. It's one track out of 166. No telling how many could be incomplete. Last edited by torres; 09-07-2018 at 10:20 AM. |

This is why I love Spotify. As I was arising from my slumbers this morning, opened the app, slid the "download" toggle and violla, the 3-disc comp on my phone and sounding delicious.
I mentioned this when it was first announced, they did a fantastic job on the selections for the comp. I wonder if that has impacted sales of the full box. I'm in no rush to grab the full box, but I'm sure I eventually will. |

also, on a related note, anyone with Spotify, please add the 6/22/73 Bird Song from this to any or all of the Spotify playlists I had made!

Still on the first show currently. Mix takes a bit to warm up. Lovely sound, though. This may be the loudest I’ve ever heard Keith. Wonderful playing and fills throughout. His piano has such a warm sound to it.

What do you think of these guys? They have a few shows coming up in Denver I want to check out. I like a few of them (the bassist especially) from other projects they are in.

^ They're good! I haven't seen them live (but would like to if/when they're around), but from those videos and others I've seen, I like em. I think you should definitely check em out.
My current obsession, though, is JRAD. They're some next-level shit ![]() |

![]() Yeah these guys have 2 shows in December about a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Gonna be fantastic. Cheap tickets too. JRAD was just at Red Rocks I wish I had gone. Looked like a great time. |

I've seen JRAD a couple times now and had a blast both times. Good stuff.

Some JGB release news:
Apparently they are prepping for a French's Camp on the Eel River release, where JGB played in 87, 89, and 91. The Facebook post vaguely refers to an upcoming release "of the shows" so hopefully it's all of them. Also, Almost Acoustic (Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band, 1987) will be getting a 11/23 RSD vinyl release. |

Melvin Seals and JGB tonight was a lot of fun. Zach Nugent is fucking good. Small venue and it was half-empty, kinda felt bad for them. But we were able to be comfortably right in front of the stage, so that was cool.

45 year anniversary of this great one (Dick's Picks 19)
I think you can skip most of the first set, start with the Playin' that ends set 1 and then strap in for the full set 2, esp. the bold: China > Rider M&MU Half-Step Big River Dark Star > MLBJ > Morning Dew Sugar Mags Eyes > Stella Blue JBG |

![]() Been needing to dive in with some good Dead. Been in a serious rut and out of the music intake for a while. I'll get back into the swing of things with this...
